Benefits to rotations?

What are the benefits of doing an actual rotation? I have some of Cathe videos/dvds, but not a lot. I was planning on doing whatever workout I felt like doing that particular morning and just alternating cardio and weight workouts like I have in the past (i.e., cardio m-w-f-sa and weights t-th). Or would I see better results by coming up with a rotation? If rotations are the way to go, how do I choose one?? I'm not new to Cathe, but unfortunately I've been VERY lazy for the past year and have rarely worked out, but I'm ready to start again. I have about 25 lbs to lose. I checked the video/dvd rotations forum but didn't see anything with the dvds/tapes I have (I am willing to purchase new dvds as well):

Cardio Kicks
Bootcamp
Muscle Endurance
Interval Max
Power Hour
Pure Strength Series
I also like to walk for cardio

I also have FIRM tapes:
Tough Aerobic MIs
Tough Tape
Aerobic Intervals
Body Sculpting
5 Day Abs

Thanks for any help/suggestions!!

I have been pretty anti-rotations until recently. I liked to have the freedom to pick out which ever workout I felt like doing right before my workout... but I started doing rotations in December, and I am hooked. So, I will say that the main benefit is the motivation. You know what your workout schedule is, so you are more likely to stick with it (at least in my case). And, if you pick a challenging rotation (and many of them are) that follows your specific goals, you are more likely to achieve them, than if you do what I did and just pick out whatever workout you feel like doing that day. Many of the rotations are geared towards a specific goal. And, if you join a check-in with others, that adds to the motivation.

Check out the rotations forum here, or go to www.fitnessvideofanatics.com - they have an archive of most of the rotations created here.

Rotations help you reach your fitness goals. I have been working out using Cathe's workouts since May last year, but simply mixing up strength training, endurance and cardio made for very small improvements. So last November and December I made it my goal to be able to increase my weights and did strength rotations for each month. Now that I've seen significant improvements in my strength, I'm switching (slowly) to endurance training as focusing on only strength has made my endurance suffer. It pays to rotate rotations as much as it pays to make/keep up with one. If your goal is losing 25 lbs., you might benefit from Cathe's old fat loss and definition rotation:
