before workout snack

Hi! I'm up in the morning between 2-2:30am to start working out by 3am. I have a cup of coffee, but I have to have a snack to eat with my coffee. I'm trying to decide wish one would be best. Is a slice of toast with a bit of peunut butter and jelly or a whole gram cracker better for you. I have to have some sort of bread, pastry, crackers, every morning with my cup of coffee in order to have a good day. I do workout 6 times a week, high impact cardio and weights. Any advice would greatly be appreciated.
 
Not Cathe here, but my own experience would be Natural PB on whole wheat toast. I tend to go with an apple and a piece of string cheese most days, but since you mentioned bread, that would be my pick for you!

PS...Stay away from white bread as much as possible!
 
WOW! I thought I woke up early to work out .I wake up at 0350hrs and I dont have anything to eat because then I get cramps. I have to be at work at 0600hrs. Can I ask why you get up so early?

I just love having my alone time, thats the only time I could get it. I have five children and I run a daycare from home open from 5:30am-6:30pm. Me getting up early guarantees I will get my workout in. I know, My husband and family think I'm crazy.
 
Not Cathe but I applaude you. I thought I was crazy to workout out at 7:30 a.m. and then walking the dog at 8:30 a.m. I salute you.

I usually have a whole grain piece of bread or crackers with some protein for a quick snack - usually low fat cheese. I was trying just fruit but I found that did't work too well.
