Beat the Winter Blues - 2/4

Hello ladies, it's a gray morning out here in Dallas. Certainly not a good day for meeting roofers and carpenters.

I did PLB yesterday. I was able to increase my weights from 24/30/35/30/24 for leg presses to 30/35/40/35/30. Maybe next time I can increase my weights for squats and plie squats to 40/45/50/45/40. Maybe. I don't really want to add muscle down there and going heavier just might do that. My current weights are getting easier though. I no longer stop between sets to take a breather.

Today will be cardio. I'll decide which one this afternoon.

Brenda, I hope you were able to check out the link I posted yesterday. I also posted some links in your Fat Flush thread. Hope they help.

Tracy, I feel for you. The last time my husband's parents came over, I was babysitter. The father was particularly whiny. He criticized everything we had. Nothing ever good enough for him. Like he was Donald Trump or something. The only thing he couldn't say anything about was our computer system because the creature (to use a kind word) is hardware and software-illiterate. Ugh... the genes that can possibly be in my son's system. Makes me sick thinking about it. The only equipment-less workout I can think of is running or brisk walking. How's the weather out there? These wouldn't work if it's icy where you are.

Lorihart, how do you do it? Workout and run for 80-90 minutes? You're my idol!

Hellos to Sabine, Lorisax, Stacy-MN (haven't heard from you lately) and Joy. Hope I didn't forget anyone.

I'm off to work. Have a great day everybody...

Hi everyone,

Another gray and dreary day today. At least the rain is scheduled for on and off rather than constant.

Today was S & H Chest and Back with plank work. I messed up the order of the exercises (I swear I heard Cathe say chest flys first instead of chest press) so I went really heavy for the flys and fried out my chest on the first exercise. Finished the rest of the exercises with lighter than usual weight and am feeling it now. The back work went great, though.

Tomorrow is floor cardio. I'm thinking that Christi may need to make an appearance. I have oral surgery a week from tomorrow and will need to take it easy for a few days afterward so lighter workouts will be in order. Not looking forward to this. I won't be able to eat solid food for about 10 days so will be living on protein shakes, yogurt, applesauce, oatmeal, soup with so things in it, and ice cream. It's a good thing I'm not lactose intolerant! Any recommendations for foods that are soft (basically no chewing), have no bits or seeds, are relatively good for you and have a good amount of nutrients in them?

Edited to add: Great job on PLB Pinky! I'm thinking of increasing my weight too (although I'd still be about 5# less than your weight).

Lorihart, you are an exercise animal! You go girl!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Ugh Why is it when I have stuff to say I lose my post?

I'll try to rewrite later ...I have got to go for now .

Hello Ladies,
Pinky, good job on the weight increase for PLB. The biggest problem I have is keeping up with Cathe on the leg presses - I'm too slow. oh, and about the carbs/fat thing. Yes I totally agree it is the fat and SUGAR that are the problem...

Tracy, do you have any Tae Bo tapes - they are great for 'no equipment needed' workouts. And remember that your son's genes are a combination of yours and your dh. Synergy is very powerful in that DNA world. It is so startling in children when the total is greater than the sum of the parts. I know I have two children and I think - where did they come from? They certainly outshine both myself and their father.

Shywolf, you are not alone losing posts. very very frustrating. I toy with the idea of composing my post in a word doc then copy and paste to the forum, but somehow I never do.

Sabine sorry about the oral surgery; there is alot of that going around. Baby yourself...and enjoy the ice cream!

This was my day off. I did manage to do Karen Voight's Yoga stretch. Its funny but I'm always really hungry on my day off and I definately feel sluggish.

I'm torn on what to do next. should I finish my ctx/ps week (right now I've done every body part once so I'm balanced) or should I go to my heavy cardio week. I feel like i'm all over the place and so I never really accomplish anything.

Hello to LoriS LoriH Brenda and Stacy. Hello to anyone else who might want to join in.

Hi Ladies,
How is everyone doing? I WAS a nice day here earlier, the sun was shining and the snow was melting:) (I wish) But now the sun as gone in, or else gone down. Its getting about that time.I have to say though that winter hasn't been to bad here so far.We have had a few storms but sometimes it gets really windy and cold! Not a good combination.
I worked out today at 10 and I finished at 12.I did Imax 2 and after each interval I did a 6min run.So I did a 60 min run + Imax2.I have to say that I didn't find it that hard. Now,if there were 5 more intervals at the end of that workout I probably wouldn't of found the energy to do them all.I am really building my endurance up by working out like this.It was funny b/c the runs were a nice break from the intervals and the intervals were a nice break from the runs.
Anyway, thats about it for me but I should add that I am so glad that I have good in laws.I can't say a bad word about them.I don't know how I would deal if I had idiots for in laws.I think I would kick them out on their bums:) Especially when they come in to your home and complain.I don't know how you do it!

Hi again ladies,

ShyWolf, I forgot to say hi to you today. My memory failed me... I hope you post again. I've lost posts before, so I before I hit "post message" I do highlight my entire message (or do ctrl-A) then do ctrl-c so I can just recopy the whole thing in case my post doesn't go through. Hope this helps.

Lorihart, I like that mental picture of kicking bums}( but honestly, my husband knows there is no love lost between me and his family so he is aware of how much this buffer zone between myself and "them" means to me. BUT the sister needs help and guess where she's running to. I told my husband right off the bat that I hate being put on the spot like this. Even if she's asking from her brother, it still affects our household. And she'll be damned if she cops an attitude while she's here. My goodness, talk about rage... I can't believe how much of it I have for these people. It is so bad, it hurts.

Joy, thanks for your wise words about genes. You don't know how MUCH it helps me.

Sabine, I had 4 teeth removed (not wisdom teeth) to make way for orthodontic treatment about 7 years ago. At the time I was living alone and all my friends were at work at the time of my appointment and no one could be with me, so the doctor couldn't put me to sleep. I didn't want to get in an accident while driving myself home. So I got injections of anaesthesia. About a dozen of them. Maybe more. I stopped counting at 12. I just closed my eyes and pictured a meadow of flowers. It didn't help:p but at least I didn't die!:7 It's like going into labor -- I can laugh about it now, but at the time I was very scared. When my husband went through the same thing in 1999, he lived on MetRx for about 3 days before eating the things you just mentioned. Keep us posted. I'll be sending you lots of get well vibes.:)

Today was Step Blast, after all that talk we had about it yesterday. Or was it 2 days ago? It felt good!

Okay let's do this again...

Today I did SJP, another great w/o. My eyes kept stinging me due to sweating...ewwww.

Tommorrow I plan on either KPC or MIC ...depending on what mood I'm in at the time .

Pinky: good going on PLb doesn't it feel good knowing that soon you'll be needing to up the weights. :)That's another w/o that I have not done in ages! Sorry for your incoming inlaws visiting what a bummer . At least I can deal with mine a bit ..actually they're not bad just notorious for popping in when they feel like it without any warning. I just don't like having company over when I'm not prepared for it. They better bring me some Godiva chocolates for this }( . Hubby and I are originally from NYC but now live in the south...nice enough distance .

Sabine; I still have not done my S&H dvd yet! I'm at the moment still trying to break in the BB series. " recommendations for foods that are soft (basically no chewing), have no bits or seeds, are relatively good for you and have a good amount of nutrients in them?" I would have to say eggs soft boiled. All the recommend good stuff for you in just one. I usually try to have 2 a day ..just to make sure I give what my body needs.

Lori: you go girl with all that cardio... running and Imax2 ? WOW!

Every one sorry if I missed somebody. Need to get the lil one her bath tonight so once again I'm gonna go ::::: POOF :::::

Hello everyone!!! I am going to do Tear It Up today, as I have been doing a Slim Series Rotation. Tomorrow I leave to go to Rally for Premier, so I will be gone all weekend. I will check in when I get back. Take Care everyone!!!!
