Cathlete
Good morning girls!

I just caught up on the posts from the weekend and as Cathe would say "I feel your energy!" I'm excited for you Tracy to start working out again (so nice to have you back!!) and Elizabeth, I'm so excited for you to start w/Cathe. Which one are you going to do today? I think I may do Bootcamp or KPC w/you Tracy or I may just stick with ME or MIS. See how I feel...

Yesterday was L&G and the step segment of MIC (that I didn't finish the other day).

Lori, how's the sugar? Was tempted by chocolates my DH brought home last night but passed it up because I realized its just not worth it. My control has been off track and its best if I just don't start than say I'll just have 1 or 2... Sabine is right, though. Make sure you don't get burned out- take a day off. Your workouts have been really intense!!

Pinky, I know what you mean. I have such a hard time putting on a smiley face for anyone, especially if they're staying in my house for an extended period of time. NO ONE gets a smile in the a.m. before coffee, either. Your company needs to realize that just because they're using your house as a hotel does not mean that you're their conceirge.

21 Jump Street- you make me laugh- and I just felt really old!

Sabine, hope your workouts go well. When do you go back for a follow-up? When do you have to go back to work? How does it look and does it still hurt? (sorry for all the questions- I just am trying to imagine what you're going through and all those stitches!)

Joy, LoriS, Shywolf, Stacy MN- hope you all had a good weekend...

Brenda

Hi guys!

I had a lovely Pre Valentine's Day on friday. The hubby spoiled me and it was sooo neat.

The company came and went and I am having the carpet installed as I type. By Tuesday I should have my home back to normal and will be able to work out in my regular space .

I hope everyone has had a great weekend and will have a super week ! Gotta go as I feel I need to be around these guys as they put in my carpet, will try to checkin later on today!

Good Morning everyone,

Today the weather is simply awful outside so I'm glad that other than my class tonight I don't have to leave the house and can stay inside cuddled with my two fur children.

Got up at around 7:00 am (apparently fur child #2 doesn't understand that Mommy needs rest and is not to be disturbed for feeding time) and decided since I was up to go ahead and workout. Did PS Chest, Shoulders and Triceps with lighter than usual weight and then I tacked on a 10 minute ab segment from Quick Fix Abs. I miss the rush of lifting really heavy and pushing myself. Just another week or so I keep telling myself.

Brenda- I go back for my first follow up a week from tomorrow which happens to also be my birthday. At that point any stitches that haven't fallen out already (and as of now I haven't lost any) will be removed. Depending on how things look I'll be graduated to non-pointy, non-crusty foods (like chips, hard crusted bread, apples, anything that can either poke or push the gum tissue out of place is in this category) that I can place in my mouth (pasta, chicken, lean cuts of meat, well cooked veggies, etc.) Then I'll have another follow up about 4-6 weeks after that and then I should get the green light to resume normal eating. I have this whole week off from work, the mid-winter break, which is why I scheduled the surgery at the time I did. Trust me, I did not want to celebrate my birthday with squishy foods but work is very hard when you only have a soft food diet so being at home is best. I stopped taking the vicodin two days ago and the swelling and discoloration is going away. The swelling is weird because it's not only on the outside (creating this Eric Stoltz in Mask type appearance) but on the inside so my mouth feels really crowded. This inside swelling also creates the unsightly drool factorx( .

Tracy- good to have you back!

Shywolf- great news about your workout space being restored. I can imagine how excited you must be to have things get 'back to normal'.

Pinky- I agree with Brenda. Just because you have company does not mean that they should expect grand service. It's your house!

Happy Mondays and hellos to Joy, Lorisax, Lorihart, Elizabeth, and Stacy MN.

Hi ladies,

Sabine, I didn't realize it would take so long before you can have regular food. I don't think I can last for more than two weeks without something solid and filling. I admire the way you're fitting in light workouts right away. I'm still sending you get well vibes. Hope you're feeling it.:)

Tracy, I hope you've resumed your workouts by now. I also hope you got your DH to clean up the mess. You can't breathe dust when you suck in air to get your heart rate down. BUT isn't it great to have your space and your home back? How's your daughter. Hope she's better now.

Elizabeth, I can relate to your Japanese wive's club story. A Malaysian guy once asked me what tribe I belong to. And he was serious about it, too. I don't know about you, but I find that one of the big problems about being an Asian woman in America is the lack of acceptance/intolerance not from mainstream America but from the community to which you're "supposed" to belong. I am obligated to prove myself "worthy" of my husband's family. Apparently, that's my duty as a wife. Excuse me, but if being "worthy" means being a doormat, then I'd rather be an outcast.

Well, yesterday was PS-upper body. I took a full two hours to work out so I could intentionally miss having to pick you-know-who at the airport. Today is PLB. My husband is out, babysitting.;-) He must've taken what I said to heart. I'm keeping myself busy so I can tune out the next few weeks.

Hellos to Brenda, ShyWolf (sorry I forgot you last time), Lorihart, Lorisax and Stacy.

Have a good one, ladies.

HI Everyone..........IM back!!!!!!!!!1
Did I miss anything? Well, I had a great weekend. Not eating or workout wise but everything else was great.
We left on Saturday morning. Before I left ,I did a 60 min run with 3 parts of bootcamp. We went to the mall when we got there.DH was having all the luck clothes shopping.I was getting no where and I wanted something to wear out that night.Whats up with every pair of jeans being stretchy? They were all to long ,to tight in the bum and to big in the waist.Thats how I know there is something wrong with a pair of jeans. If I don't watch my diet my hips and waist are the same size:eek: I finally found 1 sweater and a leather coat:) Then I FINALLY found some jeans. But then it was the other problem,I liked all 6 pairs of them:( I bought 2 of them.
Oh eating was bad though(and drinking). How come when you go away somewhere, you automatically think your on a holiday? I had Dairy Queen,Laura Secord,A&W....and I made my hubby get 2 desserts with our meal on Saturday night b/c I wanted to taste 2 things :9 Needless to say the sugar thing is going reallllllllllllll well;(
We went out both nights.I never go out anymore so I was reminded of what a circuis it actually is.People being dirty and men being sleezy.
So,I think I am going to make up a rotation sometime tonight.I plan on working out very soon.Concentrating on cardio.Try to work of some of the stuff I ate.And the sugar free thing kicks in again tomorrow.
Is there anyone here who don't eat carbs after a certain hour? Like to know what results there are.I am thinking of trying it.
We were talking to a friend of ours saturday night and he just opened a gym.Its crazy ,the most expensive membership there a month is $800.The gym mostly consist of lawyers,doctors....the kind of people who are always in a hurry and usually eat out anyway. They workout in the morning and before they leave they give them their meals for the rest of the day.I guess they feel like they have a personnal trainer and a chef at the sametime. There are only 125 members but thats all they need obviously.Anyway,I don't think I will be joining up very soon!
I hope everyone else had a good day.I will check back later after I work out!
Lori:)

Hello everyone! How are all of you? I did the first Timesaver workout today and can we say I had a blast?!....:) The cardio was fun, tricky at times but I had previewed this one a bit already and that helped tremendously so on to number two tomorrow. Since I was focusing on the moves I didn't up the intensity too much- one step (no pun intended) at a time...

Brenda, which one did you do today? Either way I KNOW you had a great workout! I've seen ME (got the tape when I ordered the High Step) and Bootcamp on Fittv about a month ago when I first discovered Cathe and all I could say was *Wow!*... And I've heard great things about KPC and MIS. DH brought home a box of Lindt's chocolates and we sampled a few on Sat. Luckily for me I had my period the week before so I was over the munchies! But I know what you mean- I love chocolate!

Shywolf- we haven't *met* yet but I wanted to tell you that was a great present for you. What a considerate hubby! Now you can enjoy your workouts even more!

Sabine- was happy to hear that you were able to workout today. I know it must be difficult to take it easier but you'll be back soon- ready, strong and able! Aren't the furkids something? You're right- they don't seem to understand that Mom needs a break and her rest...<s> One of my dogs will yawn loudly and LONG by my side and when I pick up my head to peer at her, she gives me a wide-eyed look like, *Oh, hey, gee did I wake you?... Well since you're UP how about some breakfast?*- the little scamp. And today sounds like a great day to cuddle up with your kitties and stay warm.
It was a good idea to take some time off to have your surgery done- squishy food for your birthday may not be the best meal you've ever had but you're right- it's better to be at home than at work. My heart went out to you when you also described the swelling, inside and out- I'm sending another hug out to you and healing thoughts as well... You continue to rest and get better, OK? We're all here for you.

Pinky- I can relate also to what you wrote. Some seem so *disappointed* I don't share the same exact language and ethnicity. People can be so darn funny sometimes!...:) And I second (or rather third) the sentiments of both Brenda and Sabine- it's YOUR house and they need to get a grip and get over themselves (I'm outspoken like you and my first husbands' family disapproved of that- OH WELL...!). I know that it must be upsetting but it sounds like you're handling it well. Hang tough and know that we're all behind you here. Glad to see you worked out and took the time for you. Life is too short to let stress (or the stressors) impinge upon us enjoying our life- so good for you!

Lorihart, Lorisax and Stacy- hellos to all of you, too. I'm still learning everyones' names...

Enjoy the rest of your evening, everyone!

Elizabeth

Now I feel alot better.I did a 80 min run plus 1/2 IMAX2.I have to clean up my house a little, relax and then go to bed.
Have a good night everyone.
Lori:)

Oh the joy of sore muscles!!! I totally changed my plans and decided to do PUB today, because I wanted to feel strong and I was so happy to find my weights. I can tell I am going to be sore tomorrow - I did everything at my normal weights, although I struggled with the bicep curls, but I definitely pushed myself to the limit.
Welcome Elizabeth! You are going to love Cathe and this bulletin board. I was a long time lurker before I decided to join in on the fun. I have learned so much from so many people on this board and I have been so motivated.

Is anyone following a specific rotation at this time? I was thinking about starting a "tank top" type rotation and really concentrating on my weight lifting for the next two months. Pinky, I know that you lift a lot - how many times a week do you do upper and lower body?

Hello to Sabine (sorry you are still in such pain), Brenda, LoriHart and ShyWolf (who probably understands my joy at having my workout space back!) and anyone else I forgot.

Tomorrow I am going to to do PLB and maybe a couple of IMAX intervals (if I can find the time).

I am so happy to be back in action!
Tracy
