I saw that some of you use Bare Essentials makeup (that's the powdered stuff, right?) I was just wondering how that works for people with very dry skin. I have thought of trying it before, but can't use powder on my face. It just sucks what little moisture I have right out and I've got flakes everywhere!
 
I use Bare Essentials and I love it. My skin is a little dry, but not overly dry. I use a daily moisturizer to help with my dry skin.
 
Donna, I have combination skin so I might not be of help. I usually wear a moisturizer when my skin feels a little dry and the bare escentuals looks great.

December 10 QVC is having 2 presentations on bare escentuals. The lady that owns the company comes across as genuinely nice. I am really not a QVC person but I have bought BE from them. They really show you how to apply it and they probably will address the dry skin issue.

I will find out the exact times for those interested.

I have facials done for some acne prevention, treatment. My facialist put this makeup on me called Barbaras Brushes. It is mineral makeup that is built in the brush. It was great because BE can be a little messy, you have to be super careful.

I have very dry skin. I tried Bare Essentials but I found that my skin became itchy from it so I went back to using a liquid foundation. I know a lot of people really like it, but I just did not like the way my skin looked using BE. But I do like some of BE's eye shadows.
 
You must use a moisturizer too, if your skin is as dry mine? I use NaPCA spray under my moisturizer and that really helps. I'd hate to spend the money on the BE stuff and not like it. I wonder if they have sample sizes...
 
Donna, If you buy from QVC and do not like it, you can return it. I did this with my first try of Bare Essentials. I did not like the way it looked on my skin at first and returned my order. I decided to try it again, but this time I ordered from the Bare Essentials website and ordered a lighter color. I now love it. Getting the right color is very important. I think I wear the lightest color or the next lightest color. My sister who is darker than I am has also found that she likes the lighter colors best also.
 
QVC launches their Today's Special Value at midnight each day, so since the first Bare Escentuals show is at midnight, the TSV will probably be from them that day. That's how it usually works.
 
I purchased a starter kit from eBay. It had two powder colors for light skin, three brushes and a tub of "warmth" and mineral veil and two bottles of product for skin cleansing. I think I paid about $45. It was a great deal and a great way to try the makeup line without buying a huge amount of any one product.

QVC also usually has a try me kit, with foundation, mineral veil, and warmth, and a really awesome brush for 20 something dollars. It's a great deal, the brush is really high quality. I got my foundation correct when I ordered through QVC, they do a good job of explaining colors and have 8 different models with different skin tones.
