Banana Protein bar minimal cal 100kcal

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone tried this?

I came across this recipe and would like to share.

Have not done it as yet but will definitely report on here. What I like about it is minimal ingredient, easy to make and measurement are also in ml and grams which I am used to

If anyone try, please let us know how you get on making this.

Recipe: Protein Banana Bread | Cut and Jacked

All the best everyone,

Funny....I make these all the time, I make them as muffins and I don't do the Brazil nuts. I found that same recipe on = PROTEIN POW(D)ER !. I think the flavor takes on whatever protein powder, so I haven't used "banana protein powder" when I make these...so mine taste ok. Mine never look like that picture either.

Ohh, that looks good. I have chocolate whey protein but I'm thinking that would make a nummy chocolate banana flavor...plus I could use the chocolate almond milk I have instead of the cows milk. Mmmm, chocolate banana...:p

Servings

Hmmm not sure but viewing the picture there are 3 slices.
Each slice is 105 kcal.
The loaf would approximately contains 5 to 6 slices.

I am not sure as I have not made it yet.

All the best,

Protein banana bread

Hi Everyone,

I tried this recipe and succeeded as it looks the same as the picture!:D

So far I tasted a little piece and it's delicious. I had it with coffee this morning.
I made it with following ingredients:

  • 1 Banana
  • 1/4 Shredded frozen coconut
  • 3 Whole eggs
  • 2 egg white
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1tsp Baking soda
  • 1/3 whey vanilla flavoured protein myo fusion
  • 1/4 Brown rice protein unflavoured

The total calories added up to 950- 1000 cal. 10 servings, each slice is about 100 kcal :)

In future i will substitute an egg for more egg white and sub vanilla flavoured protein powder with natural flavours trying to keep it cleaner ;-)

This recipe is very easy to do and ingredients can be substituted as per personal taste. I keep flavoured ingredient to a minimal level. I have had a tub of whey vanilla flavoured for a while. It was high time i did something with it!:D

All the best everyone,

This looks delicious. I have banana flavored casein protein - do you think I can use that instead of whey protein powder? Not sure if I can bake with this type of protein - I think I can or maybe I should just try it and see what happens. :)

To Jennifer,

Thanks so much for posting the link above.

I can not stop browsing recipes

Actually, cooking with casein is a heck of a lot easier than cooking with whey IMO (a yummier finished product too :p). Here is the website I frequent: Protein Pow: THE POWDERS
Anna Sward is the queen of cooking with protein powder's! She actually explains why a lot of whey protein baked goods turn out "rubbery" if you don't use a moistening ingredient to balance it out. With Casein protein, you won't have that problem. OMG if you use it as a frosting  dear heaven is it ever delicious.

Good luck!

Natasha

Natasha, thank you so much, that's great information. I'm going to bake this weekend - looking forward to see how they taste. Thanks again.

To Natasha,

I will have to experience the frosting by adding casein to my next shopping ;)
This might turn to be a delicious topping currently missing from my latte. I love my latte with Soya milk and Kenco coffee. So yummy.:p
Still in shock for knowing nothing about the queen of cooking with protein powder.

Thanks ;)

Nathalie,

Just a warning about Casein, it is made with cow's milk (more lactose than whey). If you are lactose intolerant, it might give you stomach upset. My DH got a tub of Casein about 2 months ago. After a few weeks of taking it before bed (Casein acts as a slow digesting protein, recommended to take before going to sleep) he got stomach upset. After doing some research, it seems as though this is very common: CASEIN PROTEIN NECESSARY TO BUILD MUSCLE? - YouTube (love this guy! He gives great advice btw). I however, had NO problems.

Take care girl :);)
