Hi Bam!
Thanks for your wonderful post. It is great to know I'm not alone in beginning (once again) my life as a Cathe-ite.
I've decided that I just cannot stop this time. I always get soooo bummed out about starting, doing well and then stopping again because other things in my life take over. Nothing is more important than getting healthy and fit and STAYING there. Not to mention, I love every minute of my exercise so it's just plain wrong to not do it. Basically, consistency is my problem and I feel I've lost quite a bit of faith in myself from giving up one too many times.
One thing I've learned from your post is that I should just focus on one day at a time, instead of planning too far in the future. I used to write monthly rotations and then beat myself up if I didn't follow them exactly as they were written. Then I looked at my exercise diary from last Fall and noticed that I was working much more consistently when I was setting daily goals! So my question is, would you, in the spirit of having a "mutual motivation partner" participate in a daily check-in with me? I think if I know that I have to check-in with someone each day and let them know what I did for my workout that day, it would give me the impetus to not disappoint them. . . . or myself by slacking off
Some of our fellow Cathe-ites already have a Daily Check-in thread on the Open Discussion board. Would you like to check-in with me and others who participate over there? I've never tried it and so it might be really cool. Or, we could start a new thread and call it the "Staying Consistent check-in" or some something else. Or. . .we could just do a weekly check-in (you and me) at the end of each week and share what both of us accomplished. I'll start by letting you know that yesterday I did the first 5 intervals of IMAX 1 for the very first time (whoa what a workout!) followed by the Step, Jump & Pump Hi/Lo & Weights premix, then Power Hour abs. I went as heavy as I could on the weights and today I am very, very sore. I love being sore; it means I've worked out, LOL. Today was my rest day.
Good luck with KPC tomorrow; it's one of my faves. Hope your back enjoys the rest today! Tomorrow, I'm planning on doing Power Circuit and the Legs & Glutes Standing only premix.
Talk to you soon
