Bad for Thanksgiving

Okay, so how many of you are planning on eating healthy for Thanksgiving and how many of you are just saying "Heck with it" and eating whatever you want that day?

I hate to admit it, but I think I'm in the second category.

We aren't doing much since my dad is still in the hospital so I will probably just go a bit overboard on dinner and maybe have a Lemon Drop wtih dinner. I am so picky I usually only eat the turkey, mashed potatoes and bread anyway. It's the snacking during the day that kills me but I doubt the hospital will have munchies :)

I do have free day with BFL and in a "normal year" use it as my free day.

i'm eating what i want for that meal! including TWO.. yes i said TWO pieces of pumpkin pie with whipped cream!

i did good at easter.. only ate healthy.... but i've decided that for thanksgiving i deserve to eat EVERYTHING! smashed taters and LOADS of gravy!

oh... and i'll be doint cathe and riding my bike on friday... saturday... sunday... monday... and tuesday! that oughta take care of the meal! lol!

Colleen-sorry to hear about your dad. That sounds tough.

I have two dinners to go to. First to my mom's at noon and then to my inlaws at 5.

My mom is already getting excited and telling me about the menu and desserts and my inlaws are gourmet cooks and the spread is absolutely unbelievable. It is so hard because I want to taste everything at my parents house because my mom worked so hard (we also chip in and make stuff too), and then I have to go to the inlaws and eat again. I think my portions are going to be really small, one sliver of pie at each dinner and lots of exercise and clean eating until Christmas (I hope!!)

Sorry to hear about your Dad, Colleen.

I decided last year that for Thanksgiving and Christmas I was going to eat anything I wanted and not look back. It worked well, but it was really hard the day after, because I still wanted all that stuff. I do my toughest workout on Thanksgiving. Christmas I take off--too busy, and I don't want to miss anything with my kids and family.

This year, I'm doing calorie staggering. So I already scheduled my days so that Christmas and Thanksgiving will be on my highest calorie day. But unlike my other high calorie days, I'm not going to keep track. It's my present to me.

I think giving yourself permission to indulge on one day prevents going too far overboard and "going off the wagon" for several days.

I'm going for it...I love the turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy...etc, etc, etc!

Workout wise Thursdays are usually my rest day, but I will probably do Imax2 to lesson the glutton guilt just a little bit!

Thaughts are with you and your Dad Colleen

Our Christmas is NEVER one day! The leftovers hang around for days, so any intention of just NOT CARING too much for one day, turns into 2-3 days!.

Im gonna have to UP the anty with exercise that week!. Blah!!!

:)

Its for sure going to be a big chowdown for me that day. I love all of the foods that are at a Traditional Thanksgiving meal!

I do plan on cranking up my exercise over the holiday..Imax on Thursday and a really long run on Friday morning. Its amazing how good the run is after eating all of the food the day before.. lots and lots of stored fuel! :)

Take care, Lynn M.
