AUGUST ROADTRIPPERS!!!

Liann

Cathlete
Ok, I'll start us out.

My name is really Amber, but I go by my middle name "Liann" on the forum. I answer to both. I live in South Central, PA, with my DH and 3 wiener dogs. I have been working out with Cathe since 05 and a member of the forum since 06. I found Cathe when I bought one of those itsy bitsy steps from Wal-Mart that had her DVD with it. I went from owning one set of 3 lb dumbbells and a set of ankle weights to having my own "gym" in the basement and a FULL size step. :) Oh, and those 3 pounders are only used as heel lifts now. ;)

Some fun facts about me - I Figure Skated competitively for years, played on my HS volleyball team then went back after college and coached them, was a goalie for my college soccer team. My DH and I raise "designer" ball pythons and I also have a number of other pets including 2 beardies named Sydney & Dundee and 3 piggies names Karma, Dharma, & Angie. I'm the youngest of 4 sisters and the aunt to over 17 nieces and nephews. That's pretty much me in a nutshell. ;)

Hi everyone!

Well, I feel funny posting after Liann since she has such an interesting life and mine is rather boring!

Let's see . . . . I live in San Diego, CA, with my husband (no kids or pets), and we've been married for almost 14 years. I've only been working out with Cathe since April of 2007. Once I started, though, I become completely hooked! I've been working out my whole life, though, even though I'm completely non-athletic. :)

My hobbies are working out, beading/jewelry making, and reading. :)

Next in line . . .

Hello fellow Trippers }( I'll hop on the band wagon.

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 11 years. We have two doggies- Muffie and Bisquit.

I have been working out with Cathe for 4 years, now I think. Prior to that did The Firm.

Other interests include reading the Cathe.com forums :+ I love to curl up with a good book and/or movie. I guess besides working out my favorite things to do are eat and sleep :7

Oh, and I live in Kentucky. Yes we do wear shoes and have teeth :p

Hi everyone!

My name is Kara, but you can call me squirrelly. Just kidding! I don’t know what the heck happened the day I chose my username! I live just south of Nashville, recently celebrated my 18th wedding anniversary, and have 2 children. Colin is 15 and Emma is 10. I started working out to Cathe about 9 years ago and haven’t looked back.

Let’s see…some interesting tidbits…I am ACE-certified, just completed my B.S. degree, have no idea what I should do with my life, and am in the pits of remodeling hell.

No way, Catherine, Kentuckians have teeth AND wear shoes??? I wish all Tennesseans did.

Kara - congrats on the 18th anniversary! :) Someday, I want to get my ACE too. Good luck with the remodeling hell. ;)

Catherine - Hello stranger!

I'm Beavs. I enjoy wind surfing, hula hooping in the nude, making prank calls from pay phones, and watching Bonanza re-runs. I discovered Cathe after suffering through that stupid music in the Firm videos. Since doing Cathe all of my workout tops have permanent pit stains, especially the tops I have worn during IMAX workouts. I like to crack jokes but I do not enjoy being the center of attention for the most part and I hated all those damn people running around with cameras snapping a million pictures on the last RT (I discovered my middle finger proved an excellent camera deterrent). I also felt sorry for Cathe who probably didn't get a potty break without some twit leaning over the stall with a camera pointing down on her. I have a dog and a cat and a wonderful SO who was on Rescue 911, because of his hockey accident clunk in the head, but did not get to meet William Shatner which to me is an utter (or udder) tragedy. He's fine but I think that clunk in the head has left him unable to put his socks in the hamper like a normal person. Oh, and he gobbles every time he sees turkeys.

Oh my goodness Beavs! I just laughed out loud at the idea of people taking pictures over the stall. That is sooo true unfortunately!!!

I beg you people, for the love of all that is decent - get your pictures, but if she is eating or in the bathroom, LEAVE HER ALONE!!! ;)

Oh, I'm so excited to meet all you in person! What a great group of people!:)

So Beavs, we shouldn't follow you into the bathroom either? ;-)

Kara -- Have you had any luck finding some new workout duds for the RT? I'm still keeping my eyes open in case I see anything for you!

Catherine -- I'm so excited to meet you, too -- teeth, shoes, and all! ;-)

Liann -- Thanks again for getting this going! :)

I am LMAO over here at Beavs' post. ITA about the cameras in Cathe's face. Anyway, my name is Beth. I live in a suburb of Rochester, NY with my DH and three kids (6,7, and 8). I am a substitute elementary school teacher (I used to teach fifth grade before I had my first son). I also am AFAA certified and teach a kickbox class and a pilates/yoga blend class. I too started with the Firm and then switched to Cathe after I had my last kid. I love reading and shopping. I have also played clarinet since I was in the fourth grade, although I don't play in any groups anymore. I just play for fun. I was on the road trip last year and met some great people that I can't wait to see again and I am also looking forward to meeting some new people!!!!

Hi everyone!

I guess it's my turn to tell everyone a little bit about myself.

My name is Wendy. I'm 36 years old. I live in Jersey with my DH, my 3 year old DS and my golden retriver named Clyde. :+

I discovered Cathe when I was a few months pregnant with DS back in December of 04. I found her via Collage video. I was a Firmie who was getting bored at the time. Along with being a devout Cathe fan I am also a runner (for about 2.5 years now). I have completed 2 half marathons succesfully and will begin training for my first 18 miler shortly. It takes place in October. My ultimate goal is to complete a full marathon in the spring of 2009!}(

I am a SAHM. I work p/t in my gym's babysitting room right now. I became certified as a personal trainer last summer and have been training by BFF and another friend of her's for 10 months now. I am putting my DS into pre-k this fall and will look for a training job in a gym at that time. Previous to having my son I worked for a bank as a collections rep. No, it wasn't fun! LOL :p :7

My ultimate goal, when we move into a bigger house, is to be able to start my own personal training business out of my home.

I am quite shy by nature and can have a hard time making friends. I've been this way all of my life. For this reason I am quite nervous about the roadtrip but am going to use that weekend as a jumping off point to try and get myself out of this 36 year old shell I've been living in!:7

I can't wait to meet each and every one of you!
:* :* :*

My name is Jacqueline and I am from Central PA (lucky me Cathe is under a two hour drive away and my DVDs come in like a day). I am single and have no children. I already have a BA but I am currently going to school for Respiratory Care. I am excited to run the Philly Marathon this year. I enjoy reading, shopping and finding new music artist to listen to.

It is nice to *meet* all of you!

Leanne--Nope, no luck on workout clothes! I am getting very frustrated. Thanks for keeping an eye out for me!

Catherine--Hi! Yes, that would be so much fun to meet you and go shopping! How far are you from Nashville? Are you flying out of the Nashville airport?

Kara:)

Hey Roadtrippers! I'm Phyllis from NJ! WooHoo NJ! I live only about 40 min from Cathe but I haven't gone very often, although
I did go on lastyear's RT. My DH and I just celebrated our 22nd anniversary while on awesome European vacation!(sounds like a movie:)) My 3 children ( DS - 19, DD - 17, DD - 14) are the best and I love them dearly! Now, the boring stuff. I'm 47 and have been working as a medical technologist all my life. I love what I do, although the workplace can certainly be a challenge. Let's see, I also was a firmie. I was trying to break free from a plateau(and boredom) when I found Cathe through the ya yas. I think it's been about 6 or 7 years now.

I want to meet all of you!! I'm very excited!
Phyllis

Check out picturetrail for my Europe pictures!
I have to exercise early in the morning before my brain figures out what I'm doing :)
