August Trippers,
I'm starting you folks a new thread about the Friday morning class, so as to avoid getting you confused -- there's a "need a ride" thread going already but THAT thread was started by July Trippers!
Here's all you need to know. Cathe's class starts at 9:10 sharp. We recommend that you gather in the lobby of the Fairfield Inn early enough to grab some breakfast and leave the hotels NO LATER THAN 8:15. There are a lot of you coming, so getting everyone there shouldn't (we hope) be a transportation problem. Just pile in with your new friends!
It will take you about 20 minutes (in morning traffic) to get to the gym, and you'll want a few minutes when you arrive to check in at the front desk before you head into the big studio to set up your steps.
Please be sure to bring your Release & Waiver of Liability and your In Case of Emergency forms ALL FILLED OUT AND READY TO GO, because -- since you are taking a class early before the RT begins -- the front desk will need to collect those from you Friday morning before class.
Also, re: your belongings --- You can bring your gym bags into the big studio with you on Friday morning and just stash them at the back of the room, if you don't want to put them in the locker room. After the RT starts, you'll be able to leave your belongings in a secured area in Cathe's filming studio (a/k/a Road Trip Headquarters ). Friday morning, however, the caterer and the chairs & tables people and all sorts of other folks will be in there getting ready for you, and so the area won't be secured. Don't leave belongings in the filming studio on Friday morning, okay?
Last -- BRING YOUR CAMERAS. Cathe has set aside a little bit of time after the Friday morning class for you folks to meet her and have your first photo ops. We will move to another room for that, because there's a class using the big studio (where you'll be stepping ) at 10:00. So, after the step class please put your step and any other equipment away quickly, gather your gear and mosey over to the other room (somebody will point you there.)
Oh, one more thing -- Cathe does have a full plate of stuff that she needs to get done on Friday before your "official" 4:00 p.m. kickoff time. So please don't be offended if one of us Coordinators or Nancy (Cathe's assistant) acts like "The Enforcer" -- if necessary we'll come in after a little while to grab Cathe away from the post-step class photo op session. We will do this because we know from experience that she's just as excited as you guys are and, if left to her own devices, she'd stay there with you folks until she was late late late for other commitments. We appreciate y'all understanding that and shooing her out after a while!
