Good morning ladies...

Today the schedule tells me I am to do a 30 minute run steady state. But, with the kids it is too hard to get that in for me...So, I think I will either hop on the elliptical or pick a cardio DVD to do instead...I think the DOMS are getting a little better today. It was tough doing those arm movements yesterday with the DOMS and the sore shot arm...It still is a little sore today. Man I hate those tetnus shots!!

Ok, time to get the kids going!! They won't be happy about that...

Talk to you later..

Good morning Kathy, and all! Yes, the run is impossible for me to do mid-week, too. Hope you enjoyed whatever cardio you did.

I did my second plyo legs today. Darn it, when I opened the little Strength "book", a dvd slid out and I noticed it was plyo legs, and I decided I would just pick that one because whatever, right? Well, it was the last one and I really should have looked through the exercises because it felt like the whole second half was a repeat of what I did just the other day. So, it was not so much fun. Especially those damn squats with the turn! I get dizzy on those.....

Chris, I forgot to comment yesterday on the many rounds in meso 3 --- there were at least two times the other day on chest and back where I was sure we were done and there was one more round. Curse you, Cathe! ;) How are your doms today? I'm going to attempt Shoulder/Bi/Tri tomorrow. I think I'll be ready.

So funny about Hannah Montana, and I don't even know the hottie guy you are talking about -- I am so out of it!!

I have lots to do today! We are headed out of town tomorrow because Saturday is Dylan's birthday and he wanted to go to my sister's house to celebrate. Bless her, she has completely embraced the idea and is throwing him a better party that I probably could have. We are going to have outdoor movies -- may have to wait til it's dark -- it'll be interesting to see how that goes -- and swim in their pool all weekend. The way Dylan is talking I think he'd move in with her if he could.

Cheers.....

Hey Kathy!
Hey Girls!

I'm running a bit later today, had to bring Zach in for some fasting blood work earlier...

Kathy: I know, my triceps are finally settling down, but now my chest and back are kicking in from yesterday's weight work. Legs/buttocks are still talking to me whenever I sit down!!! Enjoy your cardio today!!

Joanne: I'm not sure if I like the sounds of Insanity so much! LOL!. How long are the workouts, though? 30 minutes? .... Alex still is running fevers, but nothing else. In fact, I think he's getting used to the fevers, because he doesn't even act differently anymore. Continues to be his wild self!! I've been bleaching/disinfecting, I hope it works!.... What a weird thing with Caitlyn yesterday, and then the hospital call!! I'd be freaked too. Hope she turned out ok, though. Seems like throwing up isn't just "something that happens". ... also sorry to hear about your dad. Gosh, I thought there was an "easy" laser surgery they can do to zap kidney stones. Those things are PAINFUL!! It really sucks he has to wait! ... And yes, my DH can sleep anytime, anywhere. He's very adaptive! if given the time. In fact, I do understand he was up at 1 and 4 last night for Zach's blood sugars, but he also is STILL laying on the couch snoozing on and off , while I've: 1. Got up and got ready 2. Put away the dishes, DID the dishes 3. Started laundry 4. got Zach back & forth to the Lab 5. Came back , fed all the kids and myself breakfast, 6. Did all THOSE dishes. .... *sigh*

Beth: I haven't gotten any shipping notice from Physique 57. I guess I'm wishful thinking because they SAID 3 weeks, and it's only been 1-2 weeks. LOL about Larry asking for ...GRANDKIDS! ..

Hottie: Hope you're feeling okay!!! ((hugs))

Vilma: Hope school is going well!!! Are you fitting in workouts?

Okay, so for me, I'm flipping today's scheduled workout: Powermax with Saturdays: A 30 minute run. I'm off to the park to run and then will be back for abs!!!

BBL!

Hey Beth! Must have typed at the same time!!!

Yes, I kind of LIKED Hannah Montana in that movie! Not that I'll be watching or listening to her stuff at all. But I did like that song "The Climb" a little better after seeing the movie! LOL!.... YOU never heard of Zac Effron????? Oh dear, you do lead a sheltered life! LOL!!!! ... He's one of teeny bopper (is that still a term?) idols. He really is cute.

THANKS for the heads up on the last Plyo Legs. I think I'll do the same one I did Tuesday, tomorrow. It was pretty good!! And I liked most of the moves!

That birthday party sounds awesome! Geesh, I wish my boys would ask for a party at someone else's house! LOL!!. Funny, My boys bdays are coming up too, (the 1st and 2nd), I didn't realize that one of your boys bdays was so close to mine. .... How old will Dylan be again?

I think you'll be fine with Bi's Tri's and shoulders!!! Just don't go WICKED heavy on shoulders...

Chris..... Dylan turns 8 this year. Were we pregnant at the same time?

Oh, and on the flu subject..... last night was a back to school night and the superintendent talked about the flu. He said never in his 30 year career has he seen one subject talked about as much as the flu was this summer -- apparently they were bombarded by info from the CDC, etc. I don't know how much he was just trying to scare us into keeping our kids home at the least sign of illness, but he said we need to really gear up for it and expect a bad year. Are you hearing a lot about it at work?

Enjoy your run! We're supposed to hit triple digits today.....

Hi Ladies

Got home early today so I didn't dawdle long before I changed into my workout clothes. Just got done w/ TJ 20 m and SqS UB.

School is going great and I'm really enjoying being around other folks :)

Although my days are really long now but thats okay. The family and I are adjusting lol

Chris I can't stand Miley she has become so inappropriate for me that I don't care for my 11 yr old to watch her anymore esp after that little butterfly move she did on that pole during the awards show about 2 wks ago that we watched. My daughter and her friends are more into Selena Gomez and her tv show. We are not HSM fans either :p Zac and his girl Vanessa who enjoys taking nude pics of herself - ick

Beth I have each of my kids take some hand sanitizer w/ them to school I pray we don't get a visit from that flu bug; but its always on the radio or in the news esp. since school started this week.

Hellos to Hottie, Joanne & Kathy

I need to limit my time online as I have tons of school work and I like to get some of it done while my kids are in school

Later Chicas

Good morning ladies!! Today was Cardio Recovery from Insanity. I actually was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't just stretching. There were some planks and some lower body work. This would be a good day to add on a run, but the gym here at work is closed this week. Boo! I want to run with my new ipod!

Chris, I'm actually kind of enjoying Insanity - don't want to scare anyone off! The first month workouts are about 40-45 minutes, but I think the second month are closer to an hour. If anyone wants to borrow if after I'm done with this rotation, let me know. Or if you want to try out a few of the workouts. My DH's sleep bugs me sometimes too! I know he works nights, but I think I get about as much sleep as him! It only irks me a bit when he sleeps in till noon on a weekend and I've already been up for five hours doing stuff. I never got a shipping notice from Physique 57 - they just showed up. I wanted to add one in today, but there was alot of leg work in the workout I did and Caitlyn was up, so I didn't get it in. My dad is actually having the laser procedure for the kidney stones, but they give you some type of light sedation. They did reschedule at a facility right next door to a hospital. Which of course is freaking my mom out. But, it's good that they are taking precautions and if something goes wrong, they are close to the hospital. OK - I'm rambling all over here!

Beth, wow, triple digits! It's miserable here - 60s and raining. Ick. Awesome birthday party for Dylan!! I, too, wish my kids would want theirs somewhere else!! Caitlyn had a total meltdown about her birthday last night. It is Sept. 6, which is Labor Day weekend. I told her we should have her party the next weekend, because some kids might not be able to come on Labor Day weekend. Total tears and meltdown. She said it's too long to wait. And, then she kept crying that no one was coming to her party. I couldn't get a word in. I was trying to tell her it's more likely they would come if it's the next weekend. Then she tells me she's hated all her birthdays. What??? That really kind of hurt cause I've always tried to make them special. I think she was just being a punk. Ugh!! Are all girls like this?? So, it's all up in the air.

Wow, we've got a lot of kids' September b'days here!

About the flu...we did get a notice home from school, but I just glanced at it. With all the other papers coming home, it got lost in the shuffle. I think they are strongly encouraging the flu shots, but it's not mandatory. We always get flu shots for all the kids since Caitlyn is a high risk because of her heart.

Our school instituted a new food policy, too. Basically, no food can be brought in for parties, birthdays, etc. Last year it was only pre-packaged stuff. Yea, like that's healthier. They now have a no nuts policy. Which actually I'm kind of glad since Caitlyn seems to be allergic to walnuts along with hazelnuts and she's probably allergic to other nuts. Peanuts she's fine with. We've just been avoiding any type of nut besides peanuts with her.

Kathy, have fun with your cardio today.

Hi Vilma, Hottie...:)

Joanne

Checking in at lunch time here....... have you guys read the thread about the low intensity exercise experiment? I find it very intriguing since I have my own recent experience confirming that it's easier to stick to fewer calories when not exercising (I lost three pounds while on vacation -- the food was crap, so I was a lot better about watching portions). With that and the combination of barre excitement.... well, Hottie'll just kill me for thinking what I'm thinking...... she's so ready to start STS with us! But, I'm just saying..... it might be an interesting experiment for a month (less intense workouts). Which reminds me..... Joanne, have you been extra hungry with the Insanity cardio, or no difference?

Hey Vilma! Good to hear from you -- so cool that you are having fun with the classes. Some of the teachers use that sanitizer stuff -- I'm not that big of a fan of those things, but maybe this is the year to use them!!

Joanne, on Caitlyn's birthday..... first, maybe you hit her at a bad time when she was hungry or tired or something, but..... how about trying to sell it as the chance to celebrate her birthday twice? You could celebrate it with the family on her birthday, and just do the friend thing the next weekend? I know -- hard for them to understand these things sometimes! My niece's birthday is the 6th also. I hope it works out -- I'm sure she'll be happy in the end.

Hope everything goes well with the kidney stone lasering!!

Hi. I have some much to do at work...but just can't get into it, so here I am. ;)

Beth, I did read that thread about low intensity. This isn't really low intensity, but I'm thinking after Insanity, I'm going to do a running/Physique 57 rotation for a month. I'll do upper body weights though, 'cause it sounds like the P57 upper isn't too tough. I'm always hungry, so it's hard to say if I'm extra hungry with Insanity. ;) It's only been a few days so far, though. I think weights make me more hungry. For me, it's more the mindset of "I worked out - I should be able to eat this." I know it doesn't work out that way, but it's a constant battle for me. Caitlyn was definitely tired when she was upset. I did try the two birthday celebration thing - she wasn't buying it!! I'm just going to go ahead and do it. I'll have family over on the 6th and her party on the 12th. I'm worried if we have the friend party on the 6th it'll be a "Peter Brady" party. It was easier when she didn't understand the concept of months and dates!! Now she looks at Sept. 6 on the calendar every day and asks how many days till her birthday.

I went and looked at our district's web site and they had the swine flu letter up there. They are going to try to have the flu shots available in the schools. That would be great because it's so hard to get the kids to the doctor while they are in school.

Time to get back to work..

Joanne

Don't know if anyone will see this -- it's late. So, I'm not sure I can do STS tomorrow -- my shoulder is still hurtin'. I looked at the workout sheet and I'm just not sure I should even try -- I don't want to make it worse. Then I thought maybe I should try the 4DS shoulder/bi/tri segments, but not even sure I want to try that. Any suggestions? Maybe I'll see what I feel like when I wake up. I'm bummed!

Joanne, that's the kind of thing I meant -- P57 stuff combined with shorter runs. Keep the cardio to 30 minutes -- I've told you guys this, but I really think the cardio is what makes me hungry.

Hope everyone is having a nice evening..... never quite got to triple digits here but it was awfully close! So hot sitting at piano lessons..... I saw four different kids (my two plus one before and one after) and NOBODY wanted to be at piano today. That poor woman!!!
