I can echo what the other posters are saying. Cathe already has many athletic style cardio workouts so you have lots of other choices. That said, Low max was my intro to Cathe's step so I can relate to your frustration; it took a lot of rewinding to get through the warm up!! Anyway, once I got through the warm up, I did the Blast Only premix and it rocks! No fancy footwork, no impact, just heart pounding cardio. As for the step parts, I just took them one section at a time. Then I'd do whatever sections I'd mastered, plus the blasts. Over a couple of weeks, I learned the whole workout.
Keep working at the step sections, eventually things do click. It really is a fun way to workout and can be very kind to your knees, if you avoid the impact stuff. Once you "break the code" on Cathe's style, it's much easier to learn new workouts. HTH!
