Athleta sizing

Yes, size deviations definately occur. I can order the same size 4 jeans from Gap, and one may fit, but the other is too tight. Same style, same brand, etc. I even asked a Gap clerk about it, and she said, "oh yeah, you HAVE to try everything on, because they each can be so different, even if it's the same style and size". I LOVE Athleta, and along with their great workout clothes, they have great customer service. Just call them and tell them what happened. I bet they take care of you right away.

I'm a pear-ish size 10 and bought their Dipper pants in that size last year (based on some reviews here), and they were right on. Clothing sizes (including shoes) are just an incredible crap shoot. Whenever I do a catalog order, I just about always order the same item in two different sizes and return the one that doesn't fit.

I think I'll take a pass on them now--I mean, it's just too much of a hassle to guess what size I might wear & then have to take the time & trouble to return it if it doesn't fit.

I'll stick w/Nike, Sandiegofit.com & Beyond Yoga. Love their stuff, & it always fits!

I never order from them anymore because the sizes are weird. Some pants seem to run small, the tops are bigger, I don't know, too much of a hassle for me....I love San Diego Fit, I get the brand Bia Brazil, one size fits all workout pants, expensive but stretchy and good quality, they make your ass look good too.

You should check out lululemon. I love lululemon. They are super expensive though. $100 for a pair of yoga pants that really make your butt look truly fabulous! They are now available online. Unfortunately the availability is limited. This is what most of the Oxygen magazine women wear but I agree that online and catalog shopping is tough. I love shopping on Zappos and Nike because they have free shipping both ways.

Ordering from Athleta can turn into a part-time job, but at least they waive the shipping most of the time. I haven't found anything in Paragon (the big sports store here) that comes close in quality. The Horny Toad stuff is the closest, but it rarely fits me.

I don't think she was talking about Athleta, I think she was referring to the other site (which I hadn't heard of but am going to check out).

I haven't had any sizing issues with Athleta clothing, I have also been guided by their "fit tips" since there are some styles that run large or small.

I love Bia Brazil! They have these awesome padded athletic bras that actually make me look like a girl.

You know the gap purchased athleta a few months ago... I'm going to be really interested to see how their quality or customer service may change with that.

By the way, for all the shorties out there, I've found that gap jeans in ankle length are the perfect length for me -- no hemming required -- whoo-hooo!

I'm with Nancy - I ADORE Athleta. My office is fairly casual, but I like to look a little more dressed, so I wear a lot of their more casual skirts with camis and cardigans and they are perfect - I am not over dressed, but I look more professional than I would in jeans. And their material is incredible.

Oddly if you go to gap.com and click on Athleta, the selection is different than if you go to www.athleta.com. I noticed that when I figured I'd merge my Gap and Athleta orders. I, too, am concerned about the quality with the merger. Although I do like Gap and Banana Republic. But their parent company is not doing so well.

I just got my order from them and everything fits to a T I had a few ? on their sizing and called to ask which size would be best, and everything fit!!!!!!!!!!! (I am a size 6, and their dresses I can wear a small) the quality is good, guess that explains the $$$$$$. would definitly order from there again. I got a dress, shorts, pants, tops, and a bathing suit.
