Asics anyone? - another shoe question!

Has anyone here ever tried any of the Asics Training shoes? I'm a New Balance girl myself (wide foot), but none of their higher-end cross-training shoes fit me right (right now I use the 608s but would like more lateral support), so I'm thinking about trying the Asics.

I know they're known for their running shoes, but are the other shoes just as good?

I am a new balance girl too. Love the 608's and I have a pair of walking, fitness and running shoes by NB as well. I tried Asics but I rapidly tore through the back of the shoes, twice - so I went back to New Balance. My folks live near the NB factory and outlet so I get to try on loads of shoes as I have the same problem with fit. Good Luck!;-)

I end up only buying ASICS. I too have a wide foot and they are always the most comfortable. I think they last a good long time.

I have never bought anything but running shoes. I use them for running and a different pair for step and kickbox (all indoor stuff). When they get old and crappy I use them for weight-lifting only days.

I find that when my shoes start wearing down, when I do squats and such, and all the intense lower body moves with heavy weights, my feet start to slide forward and over the outsides of my shoes, putting lots of pressure on my toes. Do your shoes/feet do the same?

Susan G.

No, I've never had that happen! Mine just lose the resilience in the gel of the bottoms and so I stop using them for impact. But they remain fine for weight-lifting for a very long time.
