Argh the male-female Christmas lights!

I am calm, I am relaxed. I will not break every little white bulb by stomping on them. I am fine. Just obviously not a rocket scientist!!!!

DH is away and boys and I are putting up outside light just on our little front porch. I have them lined up and plugged in, THEY ALL WORK!!! Then I start and wrap 4 very long strings of lights carefully making sure that I have a male and female end together ( I have 2 kids I KNOW how that works!!!!)
And yet, at the end of the line, I have a FEMALE!!!!!!! Yep, i have a female.
Now being a female myself, I guess I shouldn't be so upset to end up with the female. But where the hell is the male (outlet and hubby) when you need them???????

Please feel free to drive by and see how beautiful the left side of my porch looks. Just like something out of Courier and Ives. Really it's lovely. Next year I'm only decorating 1/2 the tree. Just think of the savings on my electric bill

ROFLMAO! OMG! Ellie... what's a girl to do?! isn't it frustrating when you have done all that work and find out it won't work... I have more than a few craft projects like that in boxes in the garage... Apparently you just wanted something for Gayle and her kids to help you with, unwrapping the lights and re-wrapping them...

take a pic of your Courier and Ives lights... we have NONE! and maybe that will get me in the Christmas spirit... I'm so far saying ba-humbug...

Ouch! I had a middle string go out on my tree this year. The kids learned some new words that afternoon.

Maybe I'll start a new trend here. Go Green for Christmas lights, only plug in 1/2. There, that's my explanation to the neighbors and I'm sticking with it

I do not understand why, after decades of hassles with these lights, they don't simply work, once they're plugged in.
