Are Cathe's older step workouts more advanced

During month’s rotation, Cathe put on one of the days to do Step Works. Since I don't have her older step workouts I viewed the video clip. It seemed more advanced than some of the newer ones. I find SJP (step) easy. My heart rate goes down significantly during combo 2 (6-step mamba and strike a pose section). I was wondering what everyone else thought.
 
I totally agree that the step section in SJP, while high on fun-factor, is too easy cardio-wise. IMHO, most of her newer "pure step" workouts are more complex choreographically and less intense cardiovascularly than her older ones. There are exceptions (Step Heat and StepMax are kinda easy), but I think Powermax, StepWorks, and BodyMax (not exactly a pure step w/o, but close) are among her most challenging cardios to date. Imax, on the other hand, seems to be getting harder with each round, so I'm looking forward to seeing where she goes with Imax3.

You could probably get videotape versions of some of her older step workouts pretty easily on the VF swaps or on Ebay if you want to try them without dropping a lot of dough. :)

Are you using an 8" step or a 6" step?

The reason Cathe's older step workouts seem more advanced is because she goes at a faster tempo AND uses 8" vs. the 6" she uses now. StepWorks in particular uses a faster beats-per-minute while PowerMax uses a noticeably slower bpm.

I used to think the cardio portion of Cardio & Weights was pretty easy until I did it on 8". Big difference.
