Good morning ladies..

I can't believe April is almost over...Sunday is Lauren's birthday. So, tonight is her birthday party sleepover. I will be doing some cleaning this afternoon and I need to decorate her birthday cake..She is so excited about tonight. We have 4 of her friends coming over to celebrate with her...

Workout today will be Gym Style legs and tomorrow will finish up the April rotation for me. I am hoping Cathe will post the May rotation at some point today so I can decide what I am going to do next...

Be back later...

Good Morning!

I'm so torn as what to do. It's soooo nice out right now, and it's supposed to climb into the upper 70's today. Just was out at the bus stop and seriously contemplating a run. (The rotation calls for any CTX cardio + 10 mins of Ab work). BUT, it would save time if I just did an indoor cardio. I have a bunch to do today to get ready for tomorrow! Just figured out I have to make an unplanned trip to Wally World  , plus do my groceries for the party.

I should just stop typing and get my butt moving, is what I should do!

Kathy: Sounds like a fun night for you tonight!?!?! 4 additional girls? Eeek!. ;) Ah! GS Legs. Have fun with that ball! I'm feeling some pretty good DOMS in my quads this morning. Not sure if it was the PLB Ball work yesterday or my run.

Hottie: Which Ellen Barrett workouts did you get? I've been seeing her name alot lately and am curious!

Okay, better hit it!

Party weekend! Happy Friday and hello. Sounds like you guys are going to be busy!! Chris, let us know what you decide on the run -- it sounds awfully tempting!!

Yes, Hottie, let us know which Ellen's. Joanne, did I tell you I also ordered that Amy Dixon - Superfit Bod? Maybe I did mention it here. We sure are drawn to the same workouts! I also have the Michelle Olson one, though I haven't done it yet. I'm so bad.....

Today was theoretically a yoga/stretch day for me on my funky rotation, but I was itching for some BBL, so I did H&T and then followed it up with a long stretch. That standing band work was killer for me -- I haven't done this in at least a couple of weeks. I need to do BBL more often!

Looks like it's going to be a nice day here, too... finally! I'm so happy it's Friday!

Refreshed my memory from yesterday..... Chris, congrats on getting the continuing ed done!! That must feel great!

I RAN!!!!

I could NOT pass it up. It was awesome! Loved it!

Though my hips and quads are really REALLY talking to me now.

Lots to do still!!!

But I'm happy!

Beth: BBL! I'm so excited to get it soon. Can not wait!!! Maybe Greg will let me order it early. Where did you guys buy your copies? ... Thanks on the continuing ed thing. I'd been procrastinating with that (who, me?) and it felt so good to get it done!!!

now onto cleaning/cooking. ... fun fun fun!

Hi ladies!!

Chris, good for you on the run!! You should do what makes you feel best! There's always time for cooking and cleaning, right?? ;) So, what are you making for the party? You should get BBL from Mary at www.totalfitnessdvds.com. She's ships super fast. I usually get my stuff from her the next day (she's in WI). How soon is your birthday? You could always request it for Mother's Day instead. ;)

Beth, we do seem to order the same workouts! I'm very weak - I order everything. Well, just about. That band work is tough on H&T. I did that earlier this week.

Kathy, I know five boys together can be quite um, loud! Don't know if girls would be easier or harder! I'm sure Lauren will have a blast. How old is she now?

I found the first thread when we started checking in with each other the other day. Yea, I have no life! ;) Anyway, we were doing the Jan. 08 rotation with the bonus burn, remember that one? It was on page 537 or something like that a couple days ago. Not sure where it is now. I meant to post a link that day, but got sidetracked. Beth and Hottie, you weren't in the checkin yet. It was Chris, Kathy, me and a few other ladies that we lost along the way. Really interesting how we started just talking about workouts and gradually started sharing our lives with each other! I read the whole month's thread. It would be fun to look up some of the other old ones!

Anyhoo, my workout today was totally random. I've had Mix it Up by Nekea Brown forever, but it was still in the shrinkwrap. I finally grabbed it this morning to try. It was step and kickbox intervals. The step was fun, but she moved really fast and it was tricky in some spots. Fun, though. The step was longer than I thought, so I only did one section of the kickbox. Just wanted to try something different. I'm thinking about Tonique or BBL sculpt for tomorrow.

Have a good day all!

Joanne

Good morning/afternoon!

Yep, so it's TOM so I'm going through the roller coaster of hormonal emotions plus fatigue. BUT! I had an awesome workout -- I did Athletic Step up to that evil bonus challenge thingie at the end of the finished combo and then I put in Skinny Sculpt from Ellen Barrett that I got yesterday! (I got Skinny Sculpt, Slim Scuplt, and Mary gave me Pick Your Level Pilates -- one of the cheaper Ellen Barrets but I won't knock it). It was pretty decent. I had 3lb sculpting balls at first but my shoulders were too weak and I managed to remember where Joe tossed my old 2lb dumbbells. funny how one pound makes such a difference. The only thing I didn't really like was that the ab work focused too much on obliques. I don't know what it is but oblique work never seems to challenge me...I need to work on the front full abs I guess. But workouts really put in oblique work...Now, beth is thinking, hey I saw you -- you do not have rocking obliques but I think underneath all that flub must be something strong. You know that CLX AB burner thing where you do the oblique side to side with a dumbbell. I can handle that with 12 lbs...but sit ups? hell no. So I think I'm just going to have to do sit ups until I really can do a lot of them one day on my own...

Kathy -- eek! GS legs! Have fun! i can't believe april is over either...I need to so much more work in lab!

Chris -- good for your for getting that run done! I officially decided to outsource some of cleaning. I went onto craigslist and found someone with reasonable prices and am hoping to get a hold of her to do a deep clean of my house. I just can't go to work do a ton there, exercise, taking care of all the finances, evee, joe, etc. and have enough time to really clean. I've always been a little wary of hiring someone else to do work I should be doing or will they even do it the way I want it, but my sister once told me that even if they don't get in as deep as you want them too, it just makes it less work for you to do it later. And i'd rather give more money to one single person than a chunk to an agency so cross your fingers that I can find someone..and then I'll send them to you!

Beth -- so ok with BBL...have any of you measured if your butt has been lifted? Yes, I know too geeky, but I'm just curious. Oh I thought of you because Christopher titus has a show near my house tonight. I didn't buy tickets but I was thinking if we were in the mood maybe we'll buy them at the ice house. I have to make sure it's not the same show though...

Joanne -- OMG if we didn't share our personal lives I don't think I could stick to a check-in. In fact, all the people who only talk about exercise in their check-ins seem a little foreign to me. But, I'm a chatty (hottie) cathe. :) Yeah, you guys have enabled me into buying more DVDs. Though I love it when people say "whoa, you have so many" and I think about you guys! I only have a fraction! Actually, our spending has been wayyy too up lately. And we're going to lose our tutoring income sources (though I may be able to pick up a person or two in the summer) so I have to sit down with Joe about how to handle the next couple months. I want him to do more OT at work because it'll bring in the $$ and make him look good at work but we'll see. We're still dealing with our own personal stuff so sometimes it makes it hard to make the "business" decisions. Oh well -- see, there I go again! Personal blab blab!

Ok, I'm going to try and be ambitious at work today since I was so exhausted and virtually did nothing yesterday...the person that I usually have to share with is not here working on her talk for later this afternoon so I may be able to do it leisurely as well...

BBL!

Hi ladies..

Popping in between cleaning...Finished up with legs and got my shower. I did the vacuuming and I made the cake last night. I got it decorated this morning. I making pizza for the girls for dinner and Lauren planned the games/activites.

Joanne: Lauren will be 13 on Sunday May 2nd. Boy, I can't believe how fast those 13 years went!! I am sure everyone feels that way..Last year she had a sleepover and they were pretty tame. So, I wasn't worried. Vic is taking Chris to a baseball game. So, he won't be around to get in the girls way.. Wow, we have been checking in together a long time. I remember how we started off and lost some too...I love coming on here to chat with you all...It should be some interesting reading!

Chris: Yeah on that run. It is beautiful here too. I told Lauren to take a couple of games outside since it is so nice and should be a while before it gets dark..I made it through the ball work. Not crazy about some of it. But, it is nice to mix the leg work with some on the floor and some standing...Happy First Holy Communion to Jake!!!

Beth: I am happy about it being Friday too..

Hottie: Hope you end up with a productive day at work..Love Athletic Step!!

Back to work now...more cleaning..

Work has been crazy busy lately...... home now, and it's officially The Weekend!!!

Chris, love your banana man. Great that you got to run -- hope everything else is under control by now! And yes, happy first communion, if that's what's said. We were invited to attend one Sunday -- what are they like? Not even sure if we can go -- we may have a friend of Larry's in from out of town.

Joanne, I love your report on the group's history! You're funny! Never heard of that workout you did today. Oh, Chris, I would second the vote for ordering it from totalfitnessdvds.com, though there are some beachbody coaches on the cathe forum who are nice and will take care of you, too.

Hottie, first off, I think I'm going to try to talk Travis out of that rings of Saturn idea. We'll see if I can pull that off. I'm really worried he won't have enough material at 5th grade level! Yes, one pound makes a huge difference in the kind of stuff Ellen does -- it's crazy! And, no, no measurements here, but both Larry and I can see a difference.

Oh, and I think you were asking if I'll do meso 2. I think I will.... I have the fourth week to finish up, and I will do that because a couple of days break will have been enough. After that I'll do a week of different stuff -- maybe Ellen and some light weight total body workouts, and then see if I can jump into meso 2. I really like the feel of the way I've done the rotation this time, so I think if I get a little break, I'll enjoy it again. I seem to recall that I really liked the meso 2 workouts, though I know part of that was legs, and I'm going to stick with tonique/bbl for legs. Heck, maybe I'll finally do that Michelle Olson -- it's supposed to be a really good lower body workout also.

Kathy, good luck with the party tonight! I imagine it could get noisy, but who knows! Hard to believe you will have a teenager, I'll bet!!
