Apart from Cathe/do you have a "mentor"?

Someone who, or has, inspired you to look at life as a glass half full, not half empty?

Your such an inspiring and motivating bunch of people, and all successful in your own right.....................

Is there always someone in the back of your mind when you wake up in the morning, who encourages you to take the little pleasures in life as "one big gift"?

RE: Apart from Cathe/do you have a

What a great question. I had a prof in undergrad school who I adored. He really taught me how to use my brain. Still in touch w/him after 9 years & he always has nice, encouraging, positive things to say no matter what.

As far as fitness goes, Cathe will always be my hero, but I've always really looked up to Mia Finnegan as well. She was the first Miss Fitness (women's alternative to Miss Olympia in which you don't have to juice to win). She has an incredible build & I started working out using her routines.

I have lots of mentors, but here are my fitness ones.

My number one is a woman named Robyn Benincasa. She is one of the original women of expedition style adventure racing. I have watched her and followed her in many races and she has the heart of a champion. She also has the body of an elite athlete. I have seen her compete in person and she is amazing. I had a hard time not throwing myself to the ground yelling "I'm not worthy!!!!" Some of my friends have met her and raced with her and she embodies everything that makes a female athlete great and she does it while competing in one of the most physically demanding and dangerous sports on the planet. When I want to quit, or not do that last rep, I think "Would Robyn quit?" She now has her own teambuilding business

I also hike and climb with 2 women who have had breast cancer. One had only radiation, the other had a double mastectomy. They inspire me any time I climb or hike with them and they have both made huge comebacks to be amazing athletes.

Well, this is going to sound a bit corny. But for me it is my DH. His belief in me inspires me everyday. When he looks at me, I feel so strong and so capable, I feel like I could conquer the world. I often feel inspired to do my best so his belief in me can be justified.

Nancy,

That does not sound corny at all....it's a beautiful sentiment:) You seem to have found a true gem! Hope to find that someday:)

I'm going to chime in on the DH sentiment! I agree - my DH is one of the most incredible human beings I have ever known. I learn from him every day!!

I have to say my DH is a mentor to me in many ways. He has amazing ability to remain clam in very difficult situations. He is truly my soul mate!
