I've been seeing a naturopath for a year, but not for anything related to menopause. After 2 years, multiple symptoms, hundreds of dollars spent on a neurologist, gastroenterologist, ear/nose/throat doctor (don't want to spell THAT one out!), I was desperate. I had so many symptoms across the board, but each specialist only cared about the ones related to their field.
My ND spent HOURS asking me questions, reading 10 years of lab work (I had to track them down from several different doctors), and having me track sleeping/exercising/eating/drinking/pooping (sorry!)/social interaction for a week. I was just so happy someone listened and actually thought things might be related!
After a year, my labwork results are excellent, only have a couple areas she wants me to be better on (but it's not by much). I can't say enough about seeing an ND. They really look at the big picture, and it's amazing how much knowledge they have about the human body. I have pages and pages of notes that she writes on my visits, then copies for me.
I should add that I only had experience with "traditional" doctors until last year, it's all I ever knew. Best of luck to you! I don't think you'll regret it!
