Anyone try Nitrogen to remove blackheads? How much was it?

Hi guys,
I was just wondering if anyone has tried the dermatological procedure in which they freeze your blackheads or skin tags with Nitrogen and then they are removed.
I just had my 25th birthday, and now I am off my parent's health insurance, so does anyone know how much this procedure costs if you don't have insurance. My sister is getting married in October, and would really like clear skin by then.
Also, what do you think the dermatologist can do about large pores??
I'd really appreciate anyone's help, thanks everybody.
Take Care,
Cheryl

Cheryl,

I had some sun damage spots removed w/ nitrogen. Have no idea what it cost because it was thru my HMO. Seems extreme for blackheads since the area frozen will blister & the blisters usually turn dark. Takes about 2 weeks to heal & they itch like crazy.

I have not used nitrogen but have you tried Dr. Murad. I am 38 and my skin has suffered breakouts since I was 16 and had gotten progresivly (sp?) worse. I tried several products and they did not help much at all. Dr. Murad was the only one that cleared my skin up dramaticaly (sp?) Word of warning when I started using his products my skin broke out the first month, after that it was much better. I still get pimples time to time but not anyway near to what it was before.

Cheryl,

I had some tags removed by the dermatologist before my wedding and was very pleased with the results. It took about a week for the nasty things to dry up an fall off (ick!). It was covered under my insurance, so all I paid was the co-pay.

I don't know about using this method for blackheads.

Hope that helps.

Good Luck!

I never heard of this nitroge method. I'd doubt that a dermatologist can do anything about the pore size itself, but maybe he/she can do something about them getting clogged and forming black or white heads. Please keep me posted if you discover anything outside of this group. (hmmm.. never even condsidered asking a dermatologist.)

I'll tell you what NOT to try--the IGIA pore cleanser advertised on tv. It did nothing for me but increase my already ridiculously long shower time.
