Anyone live in or near Odessa, Fl?

My family is considering relocating to Odessa, Florida.
We have researched the area online but have not visited yet.
There seems to be so many homes for sale, just wondering if there is a problem. Also wondering how the schools are and if it is an overall family friendly city. I would love any information someone may have about the area.

Hi Kelly,

I don't live in Odessa (in fact I had to google it). I live about 65 miles south in Lakewood Ranch. I am a transplant from NJ and have lived on the west coast of Florida for more than 10 years now.

I really love it here and certainly don't miss the freezing Northeast winters, although this past winter has been pretty darn cold for us. This morning there was frost on the front lawn!

Sorry I can't help you with Odessa. Can I ask why you picked that town in particular? But I can vouch for the Florida lifestyle

Let me know if I can give you any insight on towns in Manatee or Somerset County.
