You know you wwwwwwwwwant it? Anyone remember that commercial?
I am thinking about trying the BFL challenge(once again).I have tried it a couple of times before but never actually made it to the end.I also figured that it would be great for when spring comes. We will just be getting back into t-shirts and jeans ,no more covering up what we may have stored all winter.
I just wanted to run it by everyone.I am going to do it regardless but I was just wondering if anyone else was interested in joining me.We could start a check-in.
I bought a mag yesterday and there was a before and after pitcure in there of this lady and she looked amazing! She looked just like a personnel trainer. And I thought,I can do this.It makes sense, and the eating makes sense. You get your cheat day,you get to eat every food group and you can still drink your coffee!.
Anyway,if anyone wants to join me it would be great.
Lori:)

Yeah,I am not getting into the supplement cost of things.I have some bars and some shakes still so I will use that.I did use betagen before. But it was the canadian stuff and I think thats different from the american stuff.I am just going to follow the book for eating, probably the runs,or interval workout and I am going to stick to my cathe weight tapes for the workouts (PUB AND PLB)I find I can't workout on my own.

Hi Lori,

I'm Randi, btw. I've been following the BFL eating plan somewhat loosely the past couple of months, but I'd really like to do it the right way starting March 1st. I'm up for a check-in if you'd like to start one. I also post on the "Move It Or Lose It" check-in for my workouts. I will probably not do the BFL training program as written but I still haven't worked that part out yet. Like you said, I'm going to do it anyway but a check-in would be nice for accountability with my eating. And of course, for meal ideas!

Anyway, I'll check back and see what you have to say...

ttyl, good idea!

Randi

I do strict BFL right now and am up for a check-in to help keep me accountable. I'm on week 7 and have lost 2" in my hips, waist and abdomen. Not sure about weight as I haven't hit the scale in awhile but I'm not concerned. I'm more concerned with tape measure and pants being loose...so far so good.

Hi Colleen,

You've had great results. I've never completed the entire 12 weeks, not that I didn't have good results with the program, I would keep up the eating for the most part but not as strictly and my workouts would change up quite a bit as well. I'm in it for the entire 12 weeks this time, I'll be modifying the workout program but as far as eating I'm committing 100%.

Have you officially entered a challenge? I don't think I'm going to, but I'm definitely going to work on my three goals this weekend before I start on Monday.

If you want to start a check-in it would be great, not sure if anyone else is interested?

ttyl,

Randi

I've never officially entered a challenge...I'm too lazy <G> and hate writing. The essay part would kill me!!!

Colleen

One thing that kind of turns me off is having to buy supplements. And of course completing all the application materials, lol. I'm glad that I'm committing to this for the entire 12 weeks though. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of accomplishments I can make if I really dedicate myself to the program this time out.

Is this your first time doing BFL?

Randi

Read the rules carefully but I don't believe you have to buy all the products but you do have to buy some. I thought it used to be even just one receipt but haven't entered a challenge myself.

As far as "supplements" I only use flax and a multi-vitamin. I do have protein powder but rarely make shakes. I occasionally use Detour or OneWay bars also. Mostly I eat regular food because it fills me up longer.

I did BFL for awhile, unofficially. It shredded weight off of me, which I really couldn't afford to lose in the first place. I was as low as 168 lbs on a 6ft frame. That's thin! I am at 186# right now and alot of it is muscle I have gained on my current regimen.
Anyway, my opinion with BFL is that it does work if you stick to it. And it's very important to be HIGH INTENSITY. Most people think they are going hard when they really need to push even more, EVERY day.
I also question how some of the people in the program got so big muscularly on a program with high reps like BFL. Some of the guys look like they have been doing low reps, high weight instead of the BFL way.
The "Eating for Life" book by Bill Phillips has some awesome recipes.

I did the BFL program about 3 years ago without any supplements and I lost 20 lbs, mostly fat, went down 2 sizes and was in the best shape of my life. Unfortunetely, I got a herniated disk from doing deadlifts, had to have back surgery, and because I had to recover for a while, got off the program... etc. I believe a lot of my improvement was the eating plan, not just the excercise. I excercise now but can't give up the food!
