Anyone in path of the hurricanes??????

I live on the Jersey coastline but TBH when I pull up my local weather forecast it appears to be a bunch of nothing so long as I don't intend to go to the beach on Friday! :p My friend is leaving on her first cruise out of NY on saturday. I am far more worried for her then for myself.

My boyfriend and his fishing boat, my best girlfriend and "my" horse are in Hatteras. I was supposed to head down this weekend but won't make it there before Earl washes out the road. Hoping everyone stays safe.

We survived 2 hurricanes!!!!

We moved to Vero Beach Florida in 2004 and approximately 1 month after we moved we were hit head on with hurricane Jean and then 3 weeks later, hurricane Francis blew in the same path. Just some minor roof damage. Boy, the winds were incredible. We now live in central Florida close to Orlando.

I leave for a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday. As long as I can get aboard the ship I am not worried. I have been on a cruise during a hurricane before and they just drive around it. My only concern is if we won't be able to dock the day I was most looking forward to.

I live in Vero and moved here 14 years ago. Up until that year everyone said oh you don't have to worry about hurricanes here!! Ya right. Very scary time. Linda

I always say, "Never say never!" There's always a first time for everything!

I, too, hope everyone stays safe and Earl stays way away from us up here in RI! We've gotten some pretty hefty winds and rain from hurricanes that just "brushed" our coast!

Take care everyone!

We lived over by the Indian River mall in the Walker Woods apartments at that time. We now live in Clermont/Groveland Florida. So far, so good!

You will be safe from a direct hit anyway, unlike here. I live about 5 miles from the mall. Our house was okay, but two weeks with no power in the heat was not fun!! Now we generators and a metal roof.

I live in the Florida Keys so we are glued to NOAA and the Weather Channel this time of year. After experiencing Andrew in Miami I certainly do not take hurricanes lightly. Although Earl and Fiona should pass us I'm watching Gaston and yet another development after that one!!

I live on Prince Edward Island, we are supposed to get a direct hit from Earl. Our temps have been in the 30s (celcius) all week, so that hasn't helped in deterring the hurricane.
