Anyone have this skin condition?

I don't know what it is, but it is patches of skin that feels rough, kind of circuliar - it is clear sometimes & can't hardly see it but I can feel it. Sometimes it will get redish color when I don't put Cortaid cream on it. I have patches of it on my hip thigh area & on my arm. Has anyone ever had anything like this & what is it called? what did you do to get rid of it?

Thanks!

I get these on my upper arms on occasion. It might be herpes lesions (yes, there is such a thing as having herpes lesions on the skin, and it is not related to genital herpes). Then again, it might just be dry skin as a result of eczema or some other skin condition. I've never gone to a dermatologist about mine, but maybe I should, because I am often left with a freckle when they heal. Otherwise, I experience no discomfort from them.

If you are concerned or worried about it, or just want to know what the heck causes it, visit a dermatologist and post your findings. Maybe it would be worth my going to a dermatologist myself if it's serious enough.

I get those sometimes. My doc told me mine were eczema, and told me to use corizone cream... so I guess we're in the same boat!!

I used to get them when I was younger and the doctor said it was eczema. But, you really should have it looked at by a doctor to be sure. JMHO

I'd have it checked too. I had psoriasis (don't mind my spelling) a few times. Once it was like that, the other time I had it everywhere like chickenpox. But I have seen a lot people with it isolated like that. And it won't go away unless treated. It's no big deal. Just annoying. Hope you get some relief!

Not to freak you out but do you think it could be Ring worm ?? Does it get like where its kinda red around the edges and maybe slightly greyish in the middle also scallie or flaky like in the middle ? It would not hurt to try something topical that covers ringworm . Ummm I think its called Blue Star ... Oh also if its ringworm another sign would be that it doesnt go away and it seems to grow or spread ,unlike say a spot thats healing and it would shrink. .Also ring worm is round or oval Most of the time . Good luck .And dont freak its not a big deal ,ring worm is a fungus Not an actual worm !.Just like athliets foot is a fungus.

Mary that's what I was thinking too. Do get tested as from what you described it could be ring worm, and you really do need to treat that or another skin problem as it can get much much worse. And cause some internal side affects that you don't want. Really go see a doctor and get it check if it is Ring worm or another bacteria skin infection, you'll have to rub, antibiotics on it, and do be careful as it is contagious.

I would try to go to a dermatologist. I had eczema on my back and had my OBGYN and 2 other doctors look at it. They had me freaking out thinking I had all kinds of fungus and creepy sounding things. I finally broke down & went to a dermatologist when nothing that I was prescribed cleared up the problem. Goodluck! I hope you get some answers!

I have psoriasis & it sounds very similar to that condition--or excema, both have the same symptoms but the treatment is different. Definitely check with your dermatologist.

I have something similar on both hands and, of all things, in one armpit. It started on my thumbs. My hands just got worse and worse until they were cracked and bleeding all the time. Lotions seemed to make it worse, so I just kept them bandaged all the time so I wouldn't "leak" all over everything. Talk about inconvenient. Finally, the doctor diagnosed eczema and prescribed a cream called fluocinolone acetonide and it cleared right up. It stays clear as long as I continue using the cream.
