Anyone have night driving headlight issues?

I recently bought a new explorer sport trac.
It has a heated windshield. These little metal lines all through it cause headlights to star. I cannot see for crap at night. It is scary.I bought some driving glasses that are yellow that is supposed to help, i hope...
Ford said wash it with white vinegar which did nothing.
Anyone have this problem ?
If so what did you do?.
I hate to replace the windshield. I don't have this problem with DH 's Tahoe, so I know it is not my eyes and i don't wear glasses.

I didn't even know they made such a thing as a heated windshield. Since I've never driven behind one, I don't know if this will help or not, but I used to have trouble with the starburst effect with night driving. I wear glasses and it didn't matter whether I was wearing them or not. When I went to get my glasses replaced once, someone at the eye store suggested SlimLite Clears (a brand of lens)(EyeMasters carried them). They helped tremendously. I don't know if you wear prescription glasses, but even if you don't, you might be able to get the glasses with a non-presecription lens to wear at night.

I called the eye dr. and she said she can give me a plain lense with a non reflective coating.
I don't think my ins . will pay since i don't need glasses. Cindy said they are expensive.
Yes they now make heated windshields.
This one had it. I really didn't want it , but they made me a better deal to take this one.
It otta be nice in the winter.
My last truck i just put a car starter in it.
I am looking for ideas so that i don't have to change the windshield on a 4 month old new truck.
I really love my new sport trac besides that.If i take it out I will loose money down the road when i go to trade it.

Is there a forum for Ford drivers to discuss their vehicles. I drive a Honda Odyssey and there is a odyclub forum where people talk about issues and concerns related to their vehicle and things that have worked for them. I read it before I even take my van to the shop and usually have an idea what is wrong but just wait for the technician to tell me. Just do a search and see if ford explorer drivers have a forum similar to this. I love the odyclub forum.

I am going to pick out a pair of frames on Tues.
I am really avoiding driving at night.
I hate glasses on my face. Even sunglasses. Cindy said that there are some super lights. I am going to look at them no matter what the cost.(Hopefully insurance picks it up.)
Hope it helps.

I am sorry that I misunderstood your original post. I thought maybe there could be a manufactural problem with your window. You didn't mention anything about having night driving problems before driving this vehicle, so I thought maybe there could be a problem with the vehicle window. Dealers don't always want to admit there is a problem.

Anyway, I wear glasses and I have anti-reflective coating for help with night driving. I have to pay more to get this coating. The first pair of glasses I got I paid for the coating. The second pair, I decided not to get them that it was probably a way for them to make more money. Well, I was wrong and I could truly tell the difference when I drove at night. You better believe when it came time to replace my glasses this year, that I paid the extra money for the anti-reflective coating and I am so glad I did. I realize that you don't wear glasses, but I hope that you are able to solve this problem soon. Good Luck.

Oh, it is the windshield.
I am just trying to find a problem solver.
Getting non reflective glasses seems to be the only option without changing out the windshield.
So even if i have to put it out of pocket. I am going to have to get them before i have an accident.
