anyone have a digital voice recorder?

I want to buy a digital voice recorder. My only intended use is to record my school notes into the device and be able to listen to them while I run, excercise, clean house, etc. I learn by repetition and would like to be able to listen to my notes over and over. Don't need anything fancy or expensive. Don't need to be able to transcribe or anything like that. Simply record and listen.

Anyone have one or know enough about them to be able to suggest one.

Also, my DH has one that he uses all the time for practicing singing. Unfortunately, I can't remember which one he has and he's not here right now and he must have his recorder with him. But I will found out when he gets home and let you know on that one too. HTH!

When I was in school, I did the same thing, but with my Ipod Nano. I bought a microphone for like $20 and just hooked it to my ipod. That way I could transfer the recordings to my pc and burn the recrodings to a cd and listen in my car too (at the time, I didn't have an ipod jack in the car, but now I do). Thanks for all the info. I've checked out both digital recorders and the ipod microphone. Never knew you could get a microphone for your ipod. Very cool idea since I have the ipod nano already. I placed the order for the mic and impatiently await its arrival.
