Anyone had success on Carb Addicts diet?

I tried this diet about 3 years ago with success. I lost around 12 pounds very easily. Around the holidays I got off the diet and gained all the weight back. I do not blame the diet for this as I pigged out on fudge covered Oreos and was not exercising at the time. I have thought of trying it again.

I loved the carb addicts diet, mostly because I never felt like I was denying myself. The fact that I could have one goodie a day allowed me to stick to that way of living. I think the most interesting thing was that I lost my desire for most junk. ( Even before my period, I didn't desire candy or Doritos.) I also found that my taste buds seemed to change. The little coffee cakes and Snickers no longer tasted good to me.

Good Luck!

I forgot to mention that also. As Jackie, I also lost my desire for most junk food. It was unbelievable as I love chocolate. I've just had a hard time getting back on the diet and breakfast is my hardest meal to do without carbs. I love bacon, sausage, and eggs, but what else can you eat? I guess I could spend a fortune for low carb bread and bagels. If anyone has breakfast ideas, please share.

I also wanted to share that I was very full at my meals. I remember one night having a small salad as you are supposed to have with your reward meal, 2 pork chops, black eyes peas, bread, some type of dessert, and probably something else. I was never so full in my entire life. I actually thought I was going to be sick I ate so much. I commented to my husband that there was no way this diet can work if I'm this full. The next morning I weighed and I was down 3 pounds. I couldn't believe it. I also wanted to say that I'm one of these who needed to lose those last 10 pounds and I lost them with this diet. I'm going to the grocery store tomorrow and I'm thinking of making a list so I can try again.

I've tried to find this book, but I can't find the 'Diet' book. I've sound plenty of 'Carb Addict's (fill in the blank)' books though. Can anyone tell me the basic diet plan from the book?

I was following a low carb type diet for two weeks and lost eight pounds (I know....mostly water weight) but I don't know what happened. Monday at work I was in a meeting that provided lunch, so I had a sandwich and I've been history ever since!! I remember a girl at work (doesn't work there anymore) went on this diet years back and had great success. Is it where you eat two meals with just protein only, no carbs, and one meal as a reward meal where you eat anything you want, but it has to be within an hour?!?

Thanks,

Kim

Yes and no. I followed one of the older books and have heard it's changed. At the time, free hour was great at first but became a binge fest for me and I lost total control. Ate without even being hungry. Physically I had great results but felt it wasn't helping my emotional connection with food (or my sanity <G>). But I do think it can be a good plan. It might have been that I wasn't "ready" for it also. As now I follow BFL and have no problems with free day...no binge eating for the sake of it.
