Anyone had a LEEP

I had a D&C, hysteroscopy and LEEP (loop electrosurgical excision procedure) done on Tues May 26th. I'm still feeling completely blah from the surgery. ( I had general anesthesia too.)
Has anyone had this done and how long did it take you to feel "normal" again? How long before you could resume exercise and get back into your workout where you left off presurgery? Any response would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. I can't remember how long it took to recover. I know I ended up back in the hospital ER for complications. I was definitely out for at least 2-3 week though and had to start back slowly. Hope you feel better soon.

Janie, you were out 2-3 weeks just from a LEEP procedure? I am supposed to have one in about a month or so... I had no idea the recovery was that long!!!

I had no idea recovery was so long either. Unfortunately, I felt better the few days after than I do now. I had also been bleeding for over 3 weeks before the procedures, so I was feeling pretty weak and wore down before I even had surgery. All this female stuff sucks!!

I had a LEEP procedure 20 years ago.. No time off from work, no real pain and just slight bleeding. Worrying about it was probably the hardest part. But I did not have general anesthesia, I had locl with sedation. Maybe that why I didn't feel so awful afterwards. I was pretty much awake the whole time and had to let the doc know how i was feeling.

Good Luck

Make sure your not pregnant

I had a leep procedure about 6 years ago. The procedure itself was no big deal. It was done and over in a short time, but I was pregnant and didn't realize it. It caused me to miscarry. That was a big deal.

I also had a LEEP but it was at least 10 yrs ago. Wasn't working out at the time but don't remember any real complications except the anestsia mad me feel like crap! Maybe a little TMI here but about a week maybe afterwards I had this stinky!!! black discharge - freaked me out. Caleed the Doc & they said that was normal. Gee, thanks for giving me the heads up on that Doc!
Good luck & hope you feel better soon.

That was my experience also (coincidentally enough almost 20 years ago). If they gave you a general instead of local sedation I'm guessing your procedure involved more tissue removal (or the doctor was looking for more $$ for his clinic/hospital - I hope not  )

Take care and I hope you feel better soon and don't be afraid to contact your doctor if you don't recover soon.
