Anyone from Chicago?

I live in Wheaton now, my DH grew up in Evanston. We've lived in the Glen Ellyn/Wheaton area for 18 years now.

I was born in Chamgaign. We lived in Bloomington for a few years and then moved to Iowa when I was about 8. My parents were born and raised in central Illinois (Rantoul, Leroy - tiny towns) so we have a lot of a family in that area.

Went to school at Illinois Wesleyan University (ISU Grads should know about IWU!) in Bloomington. Graduated 1988. Met my DH there and married that same year. :)

Graduate school was at University of Illinois.

My brother lives in Morton (just outside of Peoria). We try to go to the pumpkin festival there whenever we can. :)

Since I didn't grow up in Chicago, I'm more attached to Iowa foods but I do LOVE the city and suburbs and all you can do, see and BUY!
 
Oh, small world!! Yep, I know Leroy, it's about 15 min from me..... that's where I did my triathlon a couple weeks ago (Dawson Lake sound familiar?? LOL). I know IWU and ISU well. And.... I went to school for a year at U of I and LOVE the Morton Pumpkin Festival!! ;-)

A fellow Cathe fan who lives in Frankfort...Illinois, that is! Of course Laura you know it is not too far from Homer or Orland Park. I am not originally from here, but moved here from Park Forest where my husband lived. I grew up in Wood Dale, which is 10 min from O'Hare airport. I went to Fenton High School in Bensenville, Class of 93 and attended College of DuPage and NIU to finish my B.A. and M.A.

Yep, I remember that Dorothy!! You're in the town I ran my half marathon a couple years ago!! BTW, I'm so far planning to run that one again this fall!! I'll keep you posted. ;-)
