I am just curious?? I want to get Leaner Legs but need to wait until I can buy the entire CTX set and I was looking at other reviews on Janis Saffells kickboxing and the Brand New Butt and more and was thinking of trying it to change the pace, but it has to be intense or forget it......Cathe is the only one who has delivered the intensity I want, but I am looking for a dvd that is high rep on the lower body with light or no weights..............

Any opinions...............

RE: Anyone done Janis Saffell brand new butt and more?...

Hi,

I have Janis's Brand New Butt plus Pilates & really like it. The standing portion is all high rep light weights. Lots of balance moves, plie squats(explosive too) and a good variety of squats etc. The floor work is all pilates mat work with the band. I usually get DOMS the day after as I usually do with endurance work. I think it's a nice compliment to Cathe because it isn't a killer leg day, but works well for slimming and defining IMO. I haven't tried Brand New Butt and more yet, but wanted to let you know about her other leg workout. I also own all of Janis's kickboxing workouts & love all of those too. Her form is impeccable with her kickboxing workouts.

Edited to add that there is a bonus step workout too. It's a little under a half hour, but is a lot of fun.

I have it. I think it's fun and a nice lighter workout. I got this before I had any Cathe video's and could do it all w/out dying. So I would say it's kinda easy but fun. The quality of the tape is kinda poor in my oppinion, but Janis Saffell is a fun instructor. I would say it's not intense, but intermediate.

Thanks for replying! Sounds like I might want to invest in her kickbox tapes over sculpting tapes. I was looking for a super intense floorwork dvd with light weights or no weights......I just cannot seem to find that anywhere??

A quick reply before I dash out --

I liked the floorwork in this one. Didn't like the standing work. Everything was done in sets of three, and by the time the second set was over, I wanted to move on. It hurt my lower back, lots of 45degree lat rows and tricep kickbacks. Lots of balancing work - I never knew if I should just concentrate on my balance, or concentrate on the elevated leg and it's movements. There's upper body work thrown in, but so little of it, why bother?

I sold it. Now it's on DVD and perhaps the floorwork is worth it.

Interesting Diane..............where do you sell your videos? I have about 40 dvds and videos I could sell. I liked them, but too intermediate or beginner level for me, but i know someone would love them, I just have no idea how to sell things like that!

I've always sold mine on Ebay. You can also register on the YaYa's and sell them at their "Swapmeet". Since it sounds like you have quite a few to sell, that may be the better way to go since you could just post one list and be done with it.
