Anybody here teach BodyPump?

Cathlete
Hello all,

Does anyone here teach Bodypump? What was the certification process like? Cost? Length of training? How does the a Bodypump class compare to a full body workout by Cathe? Allot of questions, I know, but we have a new club opening in my home town. I am already a certified Kickbox instructor and would love to have this class added to the club's schedule.

Thanks in advance,

Deb :)

Hey Deb,

E-mail Francine, she's preparing to take a certification class in the VERY near future. I'd give you her address but I never remember it myself & use the "profiles" link & then email her from there.

Hi Deb, What state are you in? Here's a post I made for a certification coming up! I can answer any questions you may have. Feel free to email me at [email protected]
You will want to call bodytrainingsystems directly or email them to send you out a video and packet explaining there business! Your gym owner will want and need to see this along with their liscencing fees!

Hi fitness friends! If anyone is looking to be certified in Bodypump, there is a certification being held at The Aqua and Fitness Center in Cherry Hill Nj www.theaquaticandfitnesscenter.com (for directions) It's in Sept, On Sat the 6th and Sun the 7th from 730 am to 430 pm, the follow up is on Sat the 20 th 730 - 430.(3 days of training) If you are interested, you can register now for $295 (still some openings) call 856-751-5177 and ask for Lucy Kemp (group Fitness Manager), if not available at the time she will return your call and get you set up. You have to go through her to get registered! Also go to http://www.bodytrainingsystems.com/instructors/html/frameset.htm to download your agreement(print it out and sign it,you need that when you first walk in) and there's also a checklist of what to bring when you sign up on that link

*** Bodypump is very similar to Cathe's Powerhour! It is a set resistance training program(45 to 60 minute non-impact) for the whole body! Equipment used is barbells and adjustable weights! Each music track played , a muscle group is worked! So you have to adjust your weights accordingly -light to moderate due to bodypump's high repetitions (each muscle group is worked for about 5 minutes) The stretching takes place between tracks ( you do have a cool down section too). You use the barbell for a warmup doing a series of squats, lunges, presses and curls and then move on to the program that starts working the larger muscles of the legs, chest, back, then the smaller muscles of the arms, the biceps, triceps and shoulders. Then the legs are worked again before the abs and of course the cooldown! As you can see Bodypump can be very repetitive as far as the workout guidelines go but it has been deliberately choreographed with the simplest of moves so that it appeals to both men and woman! No excuses for weight training! Even the choreographically challenged can do this and self regulate their weights ! It's a wonderful program especially for new instructors since the training emphasizes choreography and technique!
