I have a few ??.
i am 5'9"/132/21yrs.....work out 6 days a week.I do a mix of Cathe and the Firm w/usually 4-5 power walks a week. What would be the average calorie intake for me??..Awhile back i had lost my period for about 18 months...have gotten it back now,but it seems like when i do even a week of intense working out it screws me up....is this common?

Hi! That's pretty worrisome. Did you see your doctor about missing your period? If not, I would still see her/him, even though you are getting it again. Your weight sounds quite low for your height. Are you doing Cathe cardio in addition to those Power Walks? If so, why? Exercise should be in moderation, and if it is messing with your system, that is a problem...Your body may be letting you know that you are hurting it rather than making it healthy...
Anyone else have comments???

I have recently cut my working out down..so when i do a Cathe cardio i do not take a walk....her cardio is enough!!!!!That is what i have to always remind myself ..is to workout in moderation...i really enjoy doing it!

Smiley, I have to agree that your weight sounds awfully low for someone of your height. You should definitely speak to your dr. about not having a regular cycle. And it probably wouldn't hurt to ask about your weight.

Moderation is the key.

Hi Smiley2!
Here's a ballpark answer to your question-
My guess after reading your data would be 1800 to 3000 calories per day, averaging around 2400.

Lost periods are only common when someone is severely overexercising. Other than that, relatively uncommon. If you fall in the more common category, beware: heart muscle wasting, extreme irreversible bone loss and other stuff go along with it.
Learn to plan sensible rotations on your calendar, stick with them, log (so you can see how much you *are* doing)and be patient! Keep your eye on the long term as well as the short. You won't always be 21 but today's mistakes teach us tomorrow's wisdom. Good luck!
