Any strong folks have a strength move they just can't do??

For me, it's triceps push-ups. I think I'm pretty strong and consider my triceps one of my 'stronger' muscle groups. That said, I cannot do on the toes triceps push-ups to save my life. Starting this Sat., I am going to do the triceps push-up segment from CTX 10-10-10 3x’s a week and see how far I get.

Anyone else care to share a move their strong body just can’t seem to master?

(Note: I didn’t mention pull-ups or chin-ups as I’ve never even attempted one!!!)

One-armed push-ups. Or those with a clap before you go down. For some reason I feel the moves in my shoulder joints, not my chest muscles, even when I check my form and know it's right. I think I need a stronger core.

Another vote for levitation holds although I think I'm finally figuring out where to position my hands. I had a little luck 2 days ago. Got my butt off the ground but certainly not for as long as Cathe. I love it when she says "did you sit down or plop down?" I always wind up plopping down.

>Levitation holds!!!

Those, I can do on the patient table in my acupuncturist's office, but not off the floor.

Tricep dips are one where I have to go to my knees, or at least to one knee.

Oh yeah to one armed push ups - every time I try these I do a nifty face plant right into the floor.x(

Also one armed pull-ups - I am getting close though! :p

I can do them but I do the ugliest imaginable plie jack and my tuck jumps are not very pretty either. And because I think too much, I am always far too aware of the disadvantage of having disproportionately long limbs when I seem to be moving a milisecond more slowly than Cathe who jumps so high and jacks and plies so beautifully. :)

Bobbi - I hear ya on the plie jacks and tuck jumps (air jacks as well)... I can do them, too, but I always imagine I look like an elephant attempting ballet...

Here's another vote for levitation holds x( ! I find myself watching Cathe do those, thinking "How on earth is that possible?" . I have found a way to cheat, though, and at least that gives me some sense of progress. I kind of support my butt on my wrists and, only then, can I even come close.

Also, power lunges. OMG! I hope someday, in the not so distance future, I will have some hope of being able to complete the entire interval in IMAX (I think it's #8) and the one in IMAX 3. Until then I'll just keep pushing and shaking my head in disbelief :D .

I can't ever seem to get strong enough to do push ups on my toes. It's so frustrating! I will try one or two and then go right back to my knees.

Another one for levitation holds. I have tried numerous hand positions, but to no avail. Can't get off the ground. I keep thinking its maybe that my wrists aren't strong enough.

Rogue, I haven't even BEGUN to consider that one. But I'll live vicariously through you, if you don't mind. :p

Another vote for levitation holds. I got off the floor once and have no idea how I did it and have been unable to repeat it. My theory is because my legs are super long (I'm 5'8" but my legs are as long as my dad's and he's 6'1").
By a miracle I did triceps push ups for the first time 2 weeks ago. I think the one armed tricep dips increased their strength.

Hey Pinky! Don't mind a bit . . . I'm honored! I saw a gal in, of all things, a movie doing these and now I have been attempting to conquer them - mostly they just kick my a**! I have a love hate relationship with a hand towel because I throw it over the bar and grip it with one hand and the bar with the hand doing the pulling. I NEED to let go of that towel but I CAN'T release it completely yet. Maybe someday when I grow up!:)

Wow! I'm impressed!

For some motivation, take a look at this site (so once you get those one-arm pull-ups down, you can think of going on to bigger and better things. Wait till the pictures load, and check out Lillian Leitzel in the bottom table):
