Any input on Janis Saffell Harcore Kickbox Circuit?

Just curious, this has very good reviews on collage, and I LOVE kickboxing but Billy Blanks has that weird tendency to miscount the reps on either side... have any of you tried this? Do you like/dislike it?

(Mariangeles, I am almost sure you reviewed this at one point...)

Other recommendations appreciated. I do have KPC.

Thanks,
Marie

I use this DVD and I think its is great. The workout is fairly intense in my opinion. I study TaeKwonDo and Janice Saffell and Guillermo Gomez use great form and do a lot of the kicks and punches I use for martial arts. There are also short toning sections of squats and dumbbells. The cast also uses weighted gloves to up the intensity. I like the upbeat music (one of the songs is included in Kickmax). I also like the Powerstrike videos. They go at a slower pace but you do slower ioslation type kicks which for me is actually harder than a really fast cardio workout like hardcore Kickbox circuit.

I like this workout, the fun factor is really high, and it's a decent workout. It more high intermediate, I think, and it's on the short side, so I usually add something like abs or even a little more kickbox on to it. You can do much heavier weights than Janis does and get more intensity on this part. There are a few places where there are quick changes in combos and I get tripped up -- the combos themselves are easy, but when strung together I can't keep the jabs, uppercuts, etc in order. It would be a great partner to one of the Core Max workouts or to the drills in KickMax! One of the combos in Kickmax (with the kick turn), in fact, reminds me of Hardcore Kickbox.

I really like this workout! :) She's on it with her DH. I agree though, it's not really advanced. But very fun!

I also have this workout and its pretty good. I really like Gomez because he does straight up kick boxing. Janis does too many "dancing/turning" moves which turns me off. But overall, it's a great workout. Good to add to a rotation.

I have this workout to and I really like it, it's not extremely challenging like its already been mentioned it intense enough and short enough where you could add something else on after your finished with this one. The cueing is great and her husband does have good kickboxing technique, it doesn't hurt that he's very nice looking. I'm going to try his new DVD that he's put out. I hope it's along the same lines as this one. I'd recommend it.

I love this workout. It's not as advanced, but it's a lot of fun. Janis's specialty is Kickboxing and she's very good at it. Her DH is very fun to workout with also. I highly recommend HCK!

Hey, thanks all for your input! I am trying to add more cardio workouts to my routine so I think I am going to get this one, and possibly the other one by Guillermo... I am not having a whole lot of luck with step workouts (I can do it when it's more of an athletic approach but am apparently too stupid/impatient to learn Cathe's choreography - I am in awe of you all).

Thanks,
Marie
