Any advanced exercisers tried the new dvd yet?

Hi,
Just wondering if any of you advanced exercisers who bought the new workouts have tried them. What do you think about them? Thanks!

Good Question!!
I hope you get some answers!
I can't answer yet, because I still haven't gotten an email saying mine are on the way, and the phone number tracking doesn't show anything either. I wasn't one of the first to order (because I thought I wasn't going to at first), but then once Cathe wrote about the premixes, I got my order in fast!
I am anxious and impatiently waiting to hear about my workouts AND Cathe's announcement!!!
Patience is NOT a word used very often to describe me!!!!!:p
I can't wait !!!!!!!!!!!!:D ;-) :7

Okay, I just got an email! WOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!!! Mine will be here on the second !!!! Just 2 more days to wait !!!:7 :7

I consider myself pretty advanced. I do all Cathe workouts, and I just tried the Low Impact Step workout last night. I liked it. It was a lot like Low Max, but there were some higher impact moves thrown in. I wore my heartrate monitor and am happy to report that my average heartrate was just as high during this workout as it was night before last when I did Low Max. This workout is easier than Low Max because it's shorter and the blasts don't "burn" quite as much, but it's still challenging.

Cathe and crew look great! I think the lighting is much better on this than on the Hardcores. I haven't done the weights workout on the DVD yet.

My only criticism of this DVD the music - really bad. Sorry, but it sucks.

Hi,
I just got my DVD's yesterday. Tried the Low Impact this am. Started on the 8" step and finished on the 6". I have to exercise at 5 am on Fridays. I know I am not as energetic in the early am as afternoon, so I did adjust accordingly. I really enjoyed the workout. As usual, Cathe's cueing is superb. She does spend a little longer teaching each combo, but since I have 2 left feet sometimes, I liked that. There is definitely enough options for any range exerciser. I will definitely do this again, it's a keeper. I also did the ab section from the sculpt part. Too short for me. :) :)

I did the step workout this morning with an 8" step and it was very easy to follow, and I DID break a sweat toward the end. The choreography is very simple, and if you're a seasoned Cathe stepper, you will have no trouble. It's definitely for a day when you don't want to work too hard which is exactly what I was after today. I missed some of her dancier moves from other DVD's, but it's great for the crowd for which it was intended.
Just Do It! :)

I did Cardio Leg Conditioning pre-mix (8' step)after my 3 mile run. Excellent the legs were fried. I will have to try this again real soon.

I also did the Cardio Leg Conditioning premix on 8" this morning along with PLB floor work & got a pretty decent leg workout. I did however substitute 10 pound hand weights for the squats and lunges(Cathe uses the stability ball). I also did the two stretch workouts w/the ball last night and found them very good also.

I did the LIS workout last night and loved it. I'm 36 weeks pregnant and it got my heart rate up and kept it there but it wasn't uncomfortable on my belly at all. It will definitely be a workout that I'll use when I want an easier day once I get back to my old self!:)

Oh, and I LOVED the music. It was different from other Cathe workout but was equally great. Yet another great Cathe workout!

I did the Low Impact Step DVD without a run through (shame on me) on an 8 inch step and I didn't miss a single step...it is extremely well cued. Although, I found it to be a light easy step workout (compared to Cathe's other step DVDs) it was really refreshing and actually fun. Just a note: I never do the Basic Step DVD because I find it way too easy stepwise and this one is comparably more advanced. ;-) The music isn't as good as Cathe's other step DVDs (JMHO), but everyones taste always differs in that respect anyway. I'm really glad I own it...I know I will definitely mix and match it in the future. I may program my DVD to play it right after the Imaxes...or maybe I will just do it twice on a plain cardio day and jump higher. It's definitely useful for mixing things up in your routine or as an add-on cardio. :)

Robin:)

Are there short premixes (like 20 mn. or less) on the cardio workout? I know that might sound strange, but lately, I've started adding a 10-minute or so "warm-up" cardio before my weight workouts, to bump up my metabolism some and get thoroughly warmed up. Works really well for me. And a more moderate workout is just great for this!

Kathryn,
There are 3 premixes on the Low Impact DVD:

Cardio & Wts 1:09:34
Solid Sculpt 45:30
Lower Body Cardio Blast 49:06

Although I didn't see any short 20 minute cardio mixes, my best guess says you can easily use sections of the cardio as as your "warm-up" if you have a programmable player. I will try to check this out for you when I have a chance or maybe someone has already done it. :)
