Another Lower Body SLimming Question...

There's a thread going about slimming the lower body - high reps, low weight or low reps, heavy weight - and I'm so confused.

I know there's no 1 answer, as we're all different, but can some of you post your body shape (pear, apple, ruler) and what worked for you. I'm pear shaped and since the start of the new year (recovered from surgery in December), I've been easing into rotations including Cathe (L&G, Leaner Legs, and now Hardcore, and I like going heavy on Hardcore, but I will stop if it will bulk me up), Lotte Berk, The Bar Method, various step aerobics and Kickboxing which I love love love. I also try to run and do yoga twice per week (schedule permitting) and I just bought the Slim Series which I've heard is great for slimming the lower body. I have the FIRM but other than the Classic Firm Parts, they irritate me to death. My desire is to have a toned lower body much like the Lotte Berk and Bar Method Instructors (and the older FIRM Instructors like Susan Harris) with a little more muscle - think Rhonda on the Cathe videos. I think that while the legs on Cathe and her crew are gorgeous - they are larger than I would like to be. Please advise. I want to get rid of my saddlebags and my "junk in my truck"!!!...

I am also interested in some responses from the more educated crowd. I am about 5 weeks into my "new" workout program and am seeing pretty good results, but mostly in the upper body. When I look at my thighs, I just sigh and think to myself that the weight will likely come off my thighs last since that is where it most easily went on.
