Another Body Fit question.......

I saw it mentioned that there is a monthly fee for this, I think? If so how much? I'm thinking about buying one and this will probably be the deciding factor. I would really like to know how much I'm really burning in a typical day so I could adjust my intake and maybe drop this 15 extra pounds I gained on 1500 kcal a day and six days a week of Cathe and Kettlebells. My thyroid checked out fine but I am 42 and experiencing many hormonal symtoms that may be early menopause and I'm wondering if this would give me a better idea of what my body is up to caloriewise, maybe I need to eat less or even more ?! I'd love to here about your results with this new fitness toy! Thx, Andrea

If I understand that you're asking about, I think it's called GoWear Fit, rather than BodyFit (which is a gym owned by former TheFIRM instructor Nancy Tucker). You may want to post a new thread with the right name for more information. Sorry, but I don't know anything more about the system than what I've read sporadically on this site. Oh, and there is another similar product called the BodyBugg, which might be where you're getting confused.

The go wear fit is what I have and it is $6.95 a month. Cheaper than 1 meal eating out!! I've had mine for a few days now and can totally see why i am not losing!! I undereat during the week, and overeat on the weekends. I have found that I MUST do cardio on the weekends. Today is sunday, and a normal sunday for me...and i've not even taken 2k steps! Yet, i've eaten my same calories as when I take 15k steps!

Everyone here said that they needed the wrist watch too, and I bought one. Honestly, I could have gone without it. I would rather have spend the $149 and left off the $69 watch...but it's all good!

I love this thing...and I think you will too!

I feel the same way about the watch, I like it, but could have done without it.

To the OP, there are a variety of charges depending on the commitment, the 6.95/month requires a year commitment, then the monthly charge goes up based on the length of your commitment. All that info should be on the website, http://www.gowearfit.com/

Just my 2cents. I don't hook up to computer that often. I love the watch. I also found I didn't burn many calories except during work out. When I check the steps and calories burned on the watch it forces me to do a little more immediately. Also using the watch you can see how many calories a specific activity used. Joan

All of the discussion about this product is sure making me take a hard look at it. One of the many things making me hesitate is having to buy the display separately. Decisions, decisions.

Nancy, you don't have to buy the display. I could live without it. However, i'm a SAHM that has time to upload it throughout the day. You could buy the arm band now, and then buy the display later....just a thought!

Jessica

Does the arm band get in the way? I would want to wear it to work, I think at least a few days to get the full calorie picture. This is sounding better all the time, now where's my credit card? :)

It will show if you wear a cap sleeve top. You can place it higher for a regular short sleeve shirt.
It took about 2 weeks for me to get use to wearing the armband. I would get kind of itchy when I thought about it. Now, I wear it 24/7(taking if off to shower) and do not notice it at all. It forget I have it on, when I'm not checking my numbers a gazillion times a day:p.

You could buy the arm band unit now, see how that works out, then buy the display at a later date. Again, I like the watch, but don't use it that often, the best part of the watch for me is seeing immediately what I have burned or am burning during a particular workout. But when you upload your data onto the computer, under My Calories Burned, you can move the slider to see exactly the calories burned for a specific time period. So as long as you note your approximate start and end times, you can still get that info.

Not trying to "enable" or anything! :p

I forget that I even have the arm band on! I do take it off only to shower, but it hasn't bothered me any.

Any of you GWF users not realize how lazy you actually were??

I was thinking that, too. And I'm retired now (woohoo!), so at home a lot so maybe I wouldn't need the display, either.
