Amy Dixon or Michelle Dozois

I've tried both instructors - I like Michelle Doizois - just not her workouts. I've tried two newer ones. I wanted to like her workouts but just wayyyy too much going on for me. Amy Dixon - I like her too. I love her breathless body workout. I've used it twice. Once all the way through - and once just half 'cos was short on time and it was really a weight training day. Loved it. will buy more. I hope that helps a bit.

I bought Amy Dixon's Breathless Body and one of Michelle's Peak 10 cardio workouts at the same time. Can't recall the name of the Michelle one. It was several intervals that started easy and were supposed to get harder.

I loved the Amy one!!! Not bored, not easy, huffed and puffed and loved it!!! Amy was a bit too perky/cheerleader here and there, but nothing I couldn't ignore. Probably just annoyed because she was happy and smiling, and I was struggling to breathe, stay upright, and curse at the TV all at the same time :):):p:p

I was bored almost to tears with the Michelle one. Could have gotten a better calorie burn eating a large pepperoni pizza while sleeping. Heart rate just never really got up, the whole workout felt like a warm up. And I found her to be annoying. The cast and crew looked like they were about to keel over, and I was waiting for the workout to really start. I was going to send it back to Collage, but never got around to going to the post office.

I only have 1 of each of their DVDs, but based on what I've done, I'd buy more Amy, but not more Michelle, which is a shame, because they both looked fun in the clips. I keep thinking I'll try the Michelle one again, I've only done it once, hoping it will grow on me. But, I can't bring myself to suffer through that mess again. Bleh.

I think it depends on what ur looking for....i like amy and michelle.....i have amy's super fit bod and breathless body and they are both great workouts....i like amy's personality....she's not over the top or annoying....i have michelle's peak fit challenge dvd system and her individual peak fit dvds and also some of her dvds before this and i really like michelle and her workouts....i think her workouts are fun and tough....i am an advanced exerciser and i think u can make her workouts easier or harder....she builds up to the "peak" so it's not super high intensity the entire way through.....i think her cardio strength workouts are tougher than her cardio interval workouts.....i also like michelle's personality....i dont' think she's boring at all and she helps to push u through the workouts....so anyway i think they are both great instructors and have very good workouts but i actually like michelle a little better, but don't think u can go wrong with either....HTH:)

Who is better when it comes to cardio?

wow that's a tough one, b/c they both have very good cardio....but if u want straight forward cardio then amy dixon would win on this one....michelle's stuff has more kickboxing, dancy style moves on top of being athletic....amy's breathless body will truly leave u breathless with straight forward athletic moves....but once again i don't think u can go wrong "cardio-wise" with whichever u choose.....HTH:)

Hi Buneknek!!

I don't have Amy Dixon, but I do have Michelle Dozois Cardio Strength & More Cardio Strength. I love them both. I consider myself advanced, & I find both of them to be fun, challenging but doable. You can make any routine easy, but if you give it your all & use the right weight, you'll be drenched with sweat when you're finished.

I advise you to read the comments on collagevideo.com attached to Amy's Breathless Body. They turned me off getting it. She repeats the same exercises again and again and the workout is considered boring by many. When you are working your tail off at very high intensity, you need to do something to distract the brain from the pain, like maybe change up the exercise?!!

Way more variety in Michelle's Peak 10 DVDs. Don't advise going for older Michelle workouts. I think that's the problem one poster was having with Dozois.

Then again, maybe you should forget both and consider Patrick Goudeau's Hard Work Conditioning, Hard Work 2, Lean Hot Body and the newer one. Yes, they feature weights, but no way in hell you can classify these DVDs as non-cardio! I dare you!! Patrick is the closest thing out there to Cathe. And he's a sweet guy. Also, consider Paul Katami.

This says it all. Amy brings more intensity than Michelle, IMHO, but Breathless Body is very very very repetitive. If you are in the mood to work hard but not think hard during your workout, then this DVD will suit you just fine. It really is a tough cardio challenge if you stick to level 3. I'm not sorry I own it one bit because I work out so early in the AM that thinking through complex choreo can be difficult , but honestly it's also never gonna my "go-to" cardio DVD.

Lol, actually that's why I posted it, I noticed nobody had said it yet! Hehe.

I have Amy Dixon's Breathless Body and have only done it twice. It's good and no-nonsense but I dont seem to reach for it often, I think b/c it seems to drag on. However, I'm going to be putting it back into my rotation but only doing half of it as an add-on. I think it'll get much more use this way.

I have one of Michelle's Peak 10 workouts, but have only previewed it. My knees dont like too much high impact and this one looked like it would bother my knees, but one of these days I'll do it with some modifications!

I agree with the recommendations/dvd's by Patrick Goudeau. There are also a few by Bob Harper that are pretty tough as well.

Happy Spending! :)

I have to put my vote in for Amy, love her. If you found the first Breathless Body too repetitive then check out Breathless Body 2 The edge. Instead of 1 exercise repeated 8 times then moving to the next it is broke down to 4 groups - 3 different moves repeated 3 times (30 on 15 sec rest) then you move to the next grouping. When you complete your 4 groups you then get to do all 12 exercises consecutively, 30 seconds for each one, 6 minutes total, no break.

That was wordy...hope it made sense.

Sounds like Amy took the comments on Collage to heart. This new organization makes more sense and should make the workout way more fun, if "fun" is the right word for a tabata workout!
