Amy Bento workouts?

I've seen Amy Bento workouts being discussed, never had any interest in it since Cathe is my favorite. Today somebody wrote a thread at Firm Ya Yas -- "Cathe has serious competition". I just HAD to open the thread...

I think she's right. I went to Amy Bento's site and watched her clips. I think she does advanced workouts... rival to Cathe. The only complain I have about her (from the clips) is the whoo-ing. I'm not interested in her newly released 4 workouts, but the next 2 release are. Oh man... I am itching for these... Here's her site:

Anybody here tried her workouts? What do you think?

I am curious about these workouts, too. I've seen one of the clips from her website - the A Team Bootcamp or whatever. To me, it seems that she doesn't compare to Cathe. Her music was blah, she didn't have much conversational tone or give instructions about the exercises (just kind of counted off, etc. A lot of whooping) and the set was really bleak! I thought she had very little personality! I don't think I could work out with her at all! However, I just watched the one clip, and have never seen a complete workout.

Some members of VF have posted a few reviews of her workouts. You may have to do a forum search, but they're there.

I have the first four workouts but only have done the abs/strech workouts and the Advance Step Challenge. Didn't like the step workout, very hard on the joints, too dancy for me and too confusing. I twisted my ankle doing the "Crazy Shuffle" and by the end of the workout my low back was hurting. Not for me. However, if you like quick moving step workouts and don't mind the dancy stuff, you may like this. Her cueing isn't as good as Cathe's and the whooing was a bit much. Some of the things she says is annoying as well.

The ab workouts are awesome, very very challenging and a good change from Cathe. Lots of different moves. The stretch workouts are good as well, I really liked both of them.

I have done All Pump or the Bootcamp one yet, but planning on it soon.

Figures, I got everyone but the ab/stretch workout. Now I want to get it since you said the ab workouts are awesome.

I really like her other workouts. The step workout took a few times to get the moves down, but I can crazy shuffle now and the workout is really fun. Her bootcamp is not as fast paced as Cathe, and she gives you water breaks, but I really enjoyed the workout. I liked all Pump, but she doesn't hit every body part. Her workouts are interesting so far because of the different moves she does.

I have been doing Cathe for 11 years. I love Cathe's workouts, but I also enjoy doing other instructors that are advanced. I also like hard choreography for I love the challenge of learning a new step workout.

Amy Bento is very professional in my opinion and I own her four new releases and I have done them all quite a few times. She is not off-count as one poster stated from watching her video clips, it is just that the music is not very loud. She gives excellent pointers and tells how one should be performing the exercises. In my opinion, she is comparable to Cathe. Granted her background is not the best, but I could care less about what the background looks like.

I have pre-ordered her two new workouts which will be shipped April 30. I plan to do all of her new workouts. Her workouts are fun. I think her step workout is really fun, but it is high impact and she does show ways to do it low impact on her preview part of the workout

Her customer service is excellent. She is really out to satisfy her customers. Amy has a great chance at becoming another advanced instructor for the home exerciser.

Her video clips do not show her as well as the whole workout does. I guess to each their own. I love her personality. She is very outgoing.

I hope this helps!

If you look at the NRG Forum on her website she has already been respectfully asked to tone down the whoo-hooing and she has agreed. I think her next DVDs will improve and I look forward to trying a few.

I personally do not like the looks of her step workout. Her Crazy Shuffle would be my Crazy Fall on My Ass. I just acquired Keli Roberts' Step it Strong and I was pleased to find a what I consider a simple yet effective workout. I don't care for the gratuitous difficult step moves.

I'm still on the fence about ordering these. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from us being "schilled" when she originally released these. (You know, that bunch of one-time posters who all but disappeared afterwards.)

I'm still waiting to see if she gets picked up by Collage.

Hi
I ordered her Pump DVD. I really like it. It is a 40 minute weight and some abs at the end. I think Amy's workouts are a nice change of pace and great to add with my Cathe rotation. I also pre ordered her 2 new cardio and weight dvd's. I am always on the lookout for something new and fun. I got great customer service from her also.
I can't wait to get my new DVD's. I think Amy is a winner. I love Cathe's workouts but it is nice to mix things up.

I'm trying to decide which ones I'm going to order. I would like new workouts and the shorter lengths are actually nice for when I'm short on time. I'm glad that I found other instructors I like now as I looked for a long time and could not find anyone to crosstrain with my Cathe's. These would be great for me to be able to add on hort yoga sesstion this summer when I have more time. The clip for her new hi/lo looks good. I will probably wait to see the clip for the other new one before I decide.

Can you describe a little more about these two?? I'm really tempted to get these. Are they well organized? Are the counts even? How's the chatter factor? Anything potentially annoying? (I'm extremely picky!)

Thanks,
Wendy

For those of you who have tried the ab/stretch workout, is this chaptered so you can just do abs? Thanks!

From what I have read on her forum, they edited out most of the Whoo-Whoos on the latest two DVDs, Step Cardio Pump, and Hi/lo Cardio Pump. I should be getting these tomorrow.

Also, she did confirm that Collage will be carrying the Step Challenge and the Bootcamp workouts, for those who are interested.
