American Idol

We weren't sure how this season would go with the new judges but we were happy with the first two shows. The singers look like they are going to be good this year! Even DH said last night that he didn't think he'd care for the change but said he thinks it's going to go very well. How about you?

I'm really enjoying Steven Tyler! He manages to be funny, yet at the same time offering up sound musical advice. He definitely knows what he's talking about. (Unlike Ellen from last season.)

J-Lo is fine. She seems sweet and easy going. I'm not sure she isn't going to be another one who has a hard time saying no to the bad singers.

Overall, so far so good!

I also think Steven Tyler is great! He really knows his music. He is so funny! J Lo looks beautiful, but for some reason, I can't take her too seriously. Actually, Randy was disappointing....
The talent is really great. It will be fun to see what happens.

I don't usually watch American Idol and I probably won't watch the whole season but I LOVE Steven Tyler!!! I will probably watch pieces of the show just to see him. :)

When I first saw Steven, I just thought, OMG! Then, he showed he knew his stuff, and got a piece of his humorous personality. Love Jennifer and I'm glad Randy is back.

I'm excited about American Idol and will be watching it with enthusiasm. Seems there are some really great singers this year.

I kind of feel like Randi is taking a back seat to the 2 "big new stars", I mean he's famous, but he's not Steven or J-Lo famous. I think they just need to get a rhythm going (no pun intended), and J-Lo I think will get tougher as the bad singers start to become too annoying to tolerate. I agree, Steven was a great choice, he actually knows music.

I watched about an hour of it and really liked it. I love Steven Tyler and J-lo. I quit watching the show a few seasons ago because it got so repetitive...but now its more interesting with the new judges. :)

Interesting responses. I usually watch Idol ONLY through the auditions because I get bored after that. I really didn't have the enrgy to watch it this week and without even seeing it I know Steven tyler was an excellent choice.

I hope J-Lo picks it up a bit and not be so nice about everyone. Maybe I'll tune in next week.

I think the problem is that they do wayyyy too much filler in their shows and I end up losing interest.

I wasn't a Steven Tyler fan before AI but now I really like him. I think he will offer up objective critisism. J-Lo currently as a problem saying no but hopefully Steven and Randy will help her with that as time goes on. I think Randy was kind of invisible thus far but maybe that is so the newbies can stand out initially. It seems everyone got through to Hollywood though.

I haven't watched Idol for a couple seasons because it got boring to me, but I think I'm going to love it again. After watching the first 2 shows this season, it seems so fresh and fun. Gotta love Steven Tyler.:D and Jennifer Lopez is sweet and so beautiful! Can't wait to see what happens the rest of the season.

Hmmmm....I dunno. I'm boycotting it this season. Can't explain exactly why - perhaps the judge changes and also it just occupies SO much of my time once it's on for 3 nights/week. We'll see how long it lasts - now that I've heard some good things, I may venture back (you enablers!!) I've watched every season but the first one, so making the break may prove to be difficult.

Incidentally, I don't really like the auditions - too goofy and dramatic for me. I like it when they all get to Hollywood, however, and the stakes are higher.
