American Idol

Because I have a singing background I have always watched this show. However, this year I am really disappointed in the top 36.

Anybody else have any thoughts?

I've lost interest.
I missed last week's results show...but it didn't really bother me (except I was hoping that dyed red/pink? haired girl would get in. And I wondered if that guy with the odd second identity would get in).
Then, I taped 1/2 of last night's show and watched the 2nd half 'live,' but don't know if I'm all that interested in watching the first half.

There are definitely some clunkers in the top 36. Maybe they already ran through all the good singer?

The top 36 this year, are not very good. I have not been impressed with anyone. I'm hoping after everyone get's chosen that someone will strike me as being good. So far, it hasn't happened.

I'm bored silly this year. I am wondering if these contestants just feel so much pressure now that they are buckling under it.

Don't really care this year. . . . and I've been a fan since the very beginning.

I love American Idol and enjoy it every season!

Sure, there are some there who aren't the greatest, but it's so worth it for the privilege of watching some of these talented kids sing their hearts out.

This year there are several amazing singers. My favorites so far are Danny Gokey, Lil Round and Jorge Nunez.

With everything going on right now, something had to go, and American Idol was it. My DH has watched it on and off and he thought they were all bad. I should start taping it and watch on my rest day in the morning since I still get up early.

I have lost interest in AI this year and have been a huge fan since day 1. It must be the 4 judges or something and the non-It talent. My boss's son is best friends with Michael Johns (from last year), so ever since seeing how AI handled his departure from the show I've been a little bothered. It also makes me wonder if the AI voters are truly the ones who decide which contestants with go through. I will say that MJ is grateful for the vehicle that AI is. MJ got my boss's wife & I fabulous tickets to the AI Tour at Sunrise, FL and took us on a tour backstage to meet the other top 10. I will tell you that those contestants work very hard!!

I think Daniel Gokey will be the winner this season. I like Daniel Gokey, Jorge (but I don't think he'll last very long) and Megan Corkrey, the girl they brought back for the wild card. Lil Rounds is really good and I think the finale will be between Lil Rounds and Daniel Gokey with Daniel winning. However, I do agree that the top 36 are mostly unimpressive. Oh yea, let us not forget Anoop. I like Anoop and I'm glad he's back via the wild card. Let's see what happens tonight.

Skipping AI this year

I already have to keep up with Biggest Loser, Celebrity Apprentice, and now Dancing with the Stars starts next week......! Also another season of Saving Grace! Yikes!

I quit on Hell's Kitchen with all the goofy smoking (as in cigarettes) candidates and Ramsey the Terrible.

I was hoping Anoop (sp?) would make it into the top 12 and he did. Infact, they made it a top 13. Go AnoopDog.

What a serious joke on the public. Its not like I can't tell that all of those people were cast not really auditioned. I recognize people who I knew as actors working on reality shows all the time. It is so darn funny. It would be better if they cast people we could actually believe had made it through some audition process that involved singing rather than acting.
