America Idol 04/18/2006

I was horrified to see Chris in the bottom three!!!! I thought for sure that group of three had to be safe since Chris was there...but NO! What is up with that?????

Under all that muscle and conceitiness (is that a word?) Ace is really a very sensitive guy. Actually thought he might cry. It was sad to see him go, but I knew he would be going at some point.

Looks like I will have to vote continuously for Chris next time. I haven't voted yet cuz I usually am pretty much done and ready to go to bed after the show, but I will try to vote for him alot next time. Can't be having him in the bottom three EVER AGAIN!!!!! NO SIR!!!!

I was stunned to see Chris in the bottom three. :( I will have to vote. I couldn't believe Taylor picked out the "correct" safe group! Well, at this point, it is anyone's win! Kelly should have gone home!

This is exactly what the folks at "Idol" want you to do. Vote. The show is much more profitable that way....;-)
 
I got home at 9:45 that night and watched the DVR. As I watched the DVR, I voted for Chris continuously until they shut it down at 10pm. Probably 50 times. I just think he does not appeal to a lot of people, and this week the Elliott band wagon(which I like Elliott too), really got going. In my mind, the next that SHOULD go is Kellie, as she is the weakest singer. The next that will probably go is Chris or Elliott, and possibly Paris, which is a darn shame, because all three have more talent than Kellie does in her little cute pinky.
 
Yeah, I told dh that next week we'll have to vote even more for Chris, I voted about 6 times I believe. I got through really easily this time. That should have been my clue to keep voting. Of course it was 45 min after the show aired too. Maybe that's the trick though. You need to give it some time and then you can get right through.
I don't know about Chris going home. Every single american idol has been in the bottom 3 at least once. I think that people think that they are safe and don't vote. I know that I've been known to do that.
I could say that I think that Kelly should be the next to go. But I can't predict that. Mainly because I want all of the rest to go besides Chris. So in time maybe they will, maybe they won't. It will be intersting to see who wins.

I was shocked about Chris, but I too think that was planned. It is show business in Hollywood...you can't expect them to be honest!!!

On another note, I read an article last night about Chris. Fuel has already asked him to be the lead singer for his band. He will be successful no matter what happens with this show.

On another note, Taylor was totally safe...why??? WTH are they going to do with him if he wins?? He will fall out of the light like some of the other idol winners. Where is Ruben??? I have nver heard any of his music. Never. I wonder how much Taylor will tick if he is in the bottom 3.....LOL!!! (Although, some of you may not find that funny...sorry...)

On another note, Kellie is being supported by the website votefortheworst.com. That is why she is still in the competition.

What is next week? Love songs?

Conceitedness.

I just tuned in for the final boot-off, and was surprised to see Chris in the bottom three, and even MORE surprised to see Kellie NOT in the bottom three. She absolutely massacred her song. Maybe that site "vote for the worst" actually is having some impact.

As for Chris in the bottom 3: maybe his core supporters are rockers, and they don't like his change of genre?

I'm glad to see Ace go. I was a bit tired of his falsetto (which the judges kept encouraging him to use).

I heard a couple of his songs (and saw a video on MTV). They were gosh-aweful, IMO. One was basically "I'm sorry.. I'm sorry" repeated over and over (in a scenario of the singer being a womanizer and hurting his woman). Another was intended to be somewhat biographical. I don't remember it (it was even worse, perhaps than the "I'm sorry" one).

I think sometimes it's better NOT to win, except, of course, in the case of Kelly Clarkson and, from what I hear (I don't listen to country...blech!) Kerry Underwood. (Oh oh, if this name trend continues, Kellie should win!).

And Fantasia? Whatever happened to her? I know she wrote an autobiography, but I haven't heard anything from her musically.
 
I think Kellie's support is coming from more than the votefortheworst.com. There are people who really like her a lot. Think she is adorable. If she wins.....I hope they teach her to sing....

And Carrie never was in the bottom 3 all last year. There is no comparison between Carrie and Kellie's voices. Night and day, Carrie is so much better....and I don't like country, but can appreciate a good voice.
 
Ruben and Fantasia's music doesn't cater to the mainstream "pop" audience. That being said, I know that Fantasia is working alot with Randy now and her album did okay. Ruben is considered a "soul" singer, but I think he just ran out of steam. There was nothing to really make him stand apart from the crowd ( other than his weight..).

I am not a huge country fan, but I have Carrie Underwood's CD. If I bought it, I can bet alot of other "pop" fans did also.

This thing is still Chris's to lose, imo.

Carrie was never in the bottom 3 last year.

We were in Tennessee last week and missed the show on Tuesday, but watched on Wednesday. I was glad to see Ace go. I never really liked him, although I did feel sorry for him. He looked like he was going to cry. I'm tired of Kelly. If she really is that naive it's almost hard to believe she can get herself dressed in the morning.

Who knows how much of this is for "show"???? Considering it's Fox, probably about 90% of it.

If they don't get Paula into rehab she's going to pass out on the set one of these weeks. It's the saddest thing I've ever seen. She's a blubbering idiot most of the time. I'm tired of hearing about everyone being a "breath of fresh air" and how they made the song "their own", even when they sounded awful. Simon may be rude and crass, but at least he's HONEST. Paula has nothing useful or constructive to say. Ever.

I really think Taylor will be in the final two. I don't know if Paris, Chris, or Katherine will be with him, but I really believe he'll be there. I really like the way Elliot sings but I don't think he'll stick around until the final two. Paris continues to improve every week. When Katherine picks the right song, she's dynamite! I just hope whoever is currently dressing her keeps doing so! Chris was just off his game last week ... or the bottom 3 was rigged!! He's always good. Ruben and Fantasia were also once each in the bottom 3!! I agree Fox may be doing this "on purpose"!!
