BOOTCAMP?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Ok, I know I will probably be banned from this site for admitting this! And, I obviously haven't been doing the August rotation!

Actually, I have only done it twice since I've had it (about 4 months). I don't exactly know what it is that I don't like, perhaps it's too fast-paced for me? I know it is an awesome workout, I just can't get into it. Is there something wrong with me? Do I need therapy? Maybe I just need to do it more often.....will it "grow on me"?? Please help!!!:7

Hi Edie!
No there is nothing wrong with you. Bootcamp is a very tough workout. I personally believe that you have to work up to it. I have tried some workouts in the past that I didn't like at first. Some of these ended up being a favorite. It's like getting the "tough" college professor that you dreaded the first few classes but ending up learning the most from.
Remember to modify so you will learn the moves and do them with proper form. Good luck and I hope Bootcamp grows on you.:)

Hi, I actually don't think it is super hard, but I have never cared for it to much. I don't know why either. I only do it when its on a rotation and sometimes I sub it for something else. I always wondered why everyone likes this one. Maybe the music, or no step--I love step. It sounds like we are in the minority. But Cathe rocks, no matter what.

I agree - I didn't like it much at first - I did it the first time and thought "that is it" I was expecting something harder.......I had been doing HSTA alot before I did Boot Camp and I still think HSTA is harder bc my heart rate keeps up there for the whole workout.

However.........its grown on me. I increased my weights I use and on Tricep dips I lift my leg or put a barbell on my lap - which makes it more challenging...........

I like it now bc it is constantly changing and I like change - I have used it more when I use my premixes....

Core only is a great ab workout....by itself!

Edie, I didn't like BC either. I'm not much of a circuits person, so I just stuck to the premixes once in a while. Eventually I got bored with my usual workouts and decided to try it (about two years after I got it), and was surprised that I was able to make it through the entire workout with heavier weights in some segments. I think using the premixes helped with that. I'm liking it more now than before but it's still not something I'd do a lot, and it's certainly not something I'd FORCE myself to do. You don't need therapy. We all have our likes and dislikes, that's all.

Pinky:)

I think for me the reason is because I like more cardio. So if I do this workout I feel like I didn't get enough cardio and have to do another workout later in the day. I however did think it kicked my butt when I did it twice during this August roataion.

Pinky-I plan to do your version of lowmax after my trip. It ssounds like a killer:)

Terri

BC isn't one of my favorites either. I like it ok and I do it every once in a while. I don't like the high impact, too much bouncing around for me :)

I'm not a big fan of this or the High Step workouts. It's not because they are too tough for me or that I need to work up to them. I can do them all. But they don't thrill me and make me grin when I'm done. Step Blast does and so do the S&H series and Circuit Max.

Hey, we all like different things.

Clare

Whew....I feel so much better now!! I think I will look at the premixes, as I never thought of that before!! And maybe I will do it one more time before I pass final judgement!!;-)

I didn't like BC either. For the life of me I couldn't figure out what everyone was raving about. So after about six go arounds with BC, it sat on the shelf.

I tried it again a few months ago as a result of Shelley's (allwildgirl) unbridled enthusiasm about it and I enjoyed it! It is now a favorite of mine.

I don't know what changed. Maybe my fitness level and endurance improved so BC became enjoyable instead of holding such a huge dread factor.

I'm not very keen on it either, but I know why. There's certain parts I just dread: Terminator climbers and tricep dips (I think there's 39 of themx(
I still like to keep it in my rotations, though, and I know I should do it more often.

Edie, I don't like circuit workouts, either. I just feel like I am always running around getting the next weight ready, etc., etc. That irritates me! I have become much more of a premix type of girl. :)

Marie

PS: I hope you are doing well!!!

Could be that BC lacks the "sort of makes you feel like you're dancin'" aerobics segments? If you can tolerate the other circuit workouts, I would guess that's why. Somehow squat thrust climers are not as fun as 5 minutes of step aerobics.
Just Do It! :)

I too do not like Bootcamp. I don't find it as hard as everyone says & I have tried it a few times. There is another one I do not like but I am at work & I can not remember the name.

Terri, I hope you don't hurt as much as I did afterwards. It was fun though, and I'm glad many ladies like it. Don't forget the calf work at the end!:)

Pinky I've read from two different posters regarding your version of lowmax. Can you pass that onto me. I would appreciate it very much.

Thanks,

I'm going to check out the premixes from Bootcamp on my extended weekend. I'm sure I will find something there that I like!

Sarah- I actually love the step segments from C&W. I rarely do the whole workout, but I often do the step premix when I want some light cardio!
