Okay, call me cheap, but I have been using my toddlers big ball as a stability ball. You can buy them at Wal-mart for about $2. It is the same size but a whole lot cheaper. I keep wondering if it is going to pop on me, and if it really is a good idea. My teenage daughter has used it some too. Wondering if we are pressing our luck, I don't want her to get hurt. Thanks!

IMHO, you are pressing your luck. Stability balls are constructed to be burst-resistant and are designed for adults. I'd suggest investing in one if you like stability ball work - it's a lot cheaper than the doctor's bills for an injury sustained if the thing pops.

There are burst-resistant stability balls at fitness1st.com.

I bought my ball at Wal-Mart for about $13. It doesn't say burst-resistant on the box but I only use it for ab work and the floor work in PLB.

I can see using the Walmart ball to see if you enjoy Stability Ball work, however I agree with the others that it could cost much more in the long run as it isn't designed to support adult body weight.

I purchased mine from MC Sports and it doesn't state burst resistant, but it is one of my favorite fitness equipment investments this year, at less than $20!

PS: My other faves are my High Step and my Troy Lite Barbell!

Good point! I do like stability ball work. Thanks for the feed back. Doesn't sound expensive at all when you put it in perspective.

The injury potential is all well and good, but don't forget about the crying your 2 year old will do when mommmy breaks his ball, lol!
