Am I on the right track?

I just received CLX and I also just got insanity. I just finished training for a half marathon, didnt really lose any wt while training and did very little wt training, only one day. Anyway, I have a cruise in may and want to be smokin hot for it. I just turned forty this yr and said I was was gonna fit and fabulous at 40 and I want to stick to my word. anyway, I just finished my first week of CLX. not use to such short workouts and only doing 1 or 2 muscle groups at a time but am gonna give it a shot and see what happens. Iguess my question to you is should I do CLX in complete rotation and then do insanity? will doing them in this order give me best results? I only have about 8 lbs to lose which on me is alot, only 5' 2 1/2. I am seeing muscle start to develop in my arms but very slowly when the shldrs are concerned and I do lift as heavy as I can. I love love doing wts. I think that is why with CLX the first workout idid I wasnt that crazy about because she only covers a couple muscle groups at a time and works your legs out every time. I was only working legs 1x week and more focused on upper body before the half training. anyway, do you think I made the right decision doing CLX first then follow it up with insanity? I really really want to see great results. I have never followed a rotation and Idont want to be disappointed. thanks!

I did STS then Insanity and now I am going to mix them...that ought to do it. I will say though, that diet is 90% of fat loss, in my case

Here is the deal: Training for marathons doesn't usually produce any weight loss, most people gain about 10 pounds. The trick to weight loss is your diet, not your workouts. I don't see anything wrong with doing CLX or insanity so long as neither one causes you to eat more than you need to. What works for me in terms of weight loss is 3 days a week steady state cardio, 2 days a week intervals, and yoga 3x a week at night combined with a carb controlled and calorie cycled diet.

I hope that helps. I've lost 80 pounds doing that. The cool part is that you still get to eat fairly normally. I vary it by about 600 calories every other day. I like to have one day off per week. But thats just a day to have some treats not a lot of them, that would be a serving of something (like chips or ice cream or a cookie.) not a whole box/bag etc. I don't know if any of this advice is helpful.

Good luck to you!

thanks. according to CLX it says i should eat only 1300 calories.that doesnt seem like much. how many calories do you eat?

Gonna have to disagree with this statement. Your fat loss/weight loss through running will be an individual thing and certainly, diet plays a role. But running incinerates calories so unless you are stocking up on piles of food after every run, running will help you lose fat/weight that is surplus to requirement. I have never seen anything but an exceptionally lean and wiry torso is any non-amateur runner/marathon runner.

If you put on weight while training for a half marathon/marathon, then that result is particular to you.

With CLX you START with 1300 calories and then gradually increase it in each phase. I lost weight with CLX, but all in the first phase. It is a worthwhile program, IMHO. I don't have Insanity, but I would think that following CLX with a high-intensity cardio rotation would mix things up and really do the trick. I hope it works for you.

thanks for the advice. I am in my 2nd week of CLX and am adding some extra cardio. I have never followed a rotation before so I hope to get good results. we will see.
