Am I just really uncoordinated? Re: kick butt lunges

I attemted these for the first time Friday...for every 3 that Cathe did, I could maybe do 1. Am I just totally uncoordinated and slow or am I trying too hard? I thought maybe I was trying to hard to get in the full lunge part...Also, I'm 5'9" and thought maybe that had something to do with it--my legs just don't move that fast!! Any thought or suggestions are appreciated!
 
They're on my Timesaver 5 workout--I think maybe from KPC?
They are repeated lunges on one leg at a time only before lunging again, you kick your heel up to your butt. They go very fast!
 
Are you talking about power lunges, like in the Kickmax Blast Challenge or power lunges on the step like in Lomax?

Well, she calls them kick-butt lunges so that's the only name I know them by. It's a big step forward, push off, kick heel to butt, step forward again.

I've never seen those, so they're not from KPC. Are you sure they're not hammer punch lunges? You lunge forward, hammer punch down, then pull back into a knee smash?

I'll have to double check which workout they are from...surely someone out there know what I'm talking about...right?...right?:eek:

Here is a breakdown in the workout from TS #5...

Timesaver # 5……(48 minutes)
Warm Up (Legs & Glutes)
All Leg Work (Step Jump Pump/Legs & Glutes/Bonus Timesaver Footage)
Abs (Step Jump Pump)
Stretch (Step Jump Pump)

Maybe this exercise is part of the bonus timesaver footage? Not to ask a silly question, but do you remember what color her outfit was? (That will clue us into where that portion comes from...)

I have not seen this move either so my curiosity is peaked!
 
I don't have cable or satellite or anything. The only thing my TV gets used for is workouts and movies for Miss Sophie (and sometimes me:)).
 
YES, these are from the Bonus Footage in the TS#5 leg workout. And they do, indeed, kick butt. I'd say, just keep practicing them, and they will "click" eventually.

Hi,
I have trouble with kick butt lunges too. So I take a 12lb. dumb bell and hold it chest level and do static lunges. I am afraid I will hurt my knees so I guess it is the easy way out. Just a suggestion.
