Alywyn, TT, Kettlebellers, thursday 5/22

Wendy, that one sounds like a killer. Great job! I know exactly how your legs feel after not using the elliptical for a while. I have both a treadmill and an elliptical at home, but I favor the tread, so when I do get on the elliptical my legs scream. Props to you for sticking with it! I've been switching back and forth between the two machines during my cardios lately, because my legs just can't seem to endure twenty straight minutes on either!

Jacque, I hate to say it, but my secret to staying on the diet track is being divorced! Sooooo much easier to do my own thing when I don't have to deal with someone else's food habits, you know? Granted, I have kids, but let's face it, they're going to eat what I keep in the house, right? About two weeks ago I went through my food cabinet and tossed everything that was not diet friendly, which included a ton of Easter candy. My son was ticked for a minute or two, but got over it quickly. (He likes to watch what he eats, too.)

:)

P.S. Yay Sunny! Awesome job with the weight loss!

Lori, are you a stay at home mom? I did that for eight years. There is no job more difficult. Hang in there, this too shall pass.

Hi.

I'm back for personals before I grab a quick cat nap. When I get up I plan to do Beach Body's "Awaken the Body". It's a 30 minute program of stretching, and yoga. I seriously think it's the perfect program for me!:)

I swear the EXT brought out the DOMS that was lying dormant in my lower body! LOL After y'day's work out I was sure I'd be sore but did not wake up that way. Yet I've been sore ever since I finished my work out. }(

Sunny: Congrats on the weight loss, girl! I am not going for actual weight loss either but have also already seen a weight decrease in just a few days! I have a feeling we are going to get some AWESOME results from this program! WOO HOO! Alwyn rocks!:7
Can't wait to hear what you think of Jillian's 30 day shred work out!

Lori: It can be tough for lots of folks to get through a yoga work out. I like it and still can have a very hard time doing it. I was on a yoga hiatus for a few weeks. I just didn't wanna do it. I've slowly started integrating it back in now though.
I noticed you were asking Lora about Turbo Jam. I have several of the Turbo Jam work outs and love them! Overall they are lower intensity then Cathe but you get out of it what you put into it so you can make it one heck of a good sweat if you want to! In addition, if you purchase weighted gloves you will get an even MORE intense work out! Chalene is awesome. The workouts are dancey but you don't have to do that if you don't want to. You can easily modify them to be more athletic. Remember, BB has a 30 day money back gaurantee so if you buy one and don't like it, you can return it for a refund. HTH!:)

Jen: Glad you are getting used to less carbs in your diet. By the time WSFL is done you'll be a pro at eating less carbs!:) I always gravitate towards the treadmill too. I not only love to run but was never overly fond of the EXT. That being said, today's work out has me convinced to give the EXT a little more love in the future. ;)
So you were a SAHM for 8 years? I am a SAHM right now. Been home for 3 years. It's tough. I have a VERY p/t job at my gym where I work in the babysitting area a few hours a week. My son comes with me and plays in there. It has allowed him to socialize with other kids and allowed me to socialize with adults. I started working there 1.5 years ago and it has been a God-send even though it's a cr@ppy job overall. I am signing DS up for preschool for this fall though so I can go out and get a REAL part time job (about 20 hours a week). I'm so excited!!!:7

Christine: Hope you are enjoying your rest day. I haven't taken a complete rest day in quite some time. I just haven't felt the need to. I suppose I should soon. Maybe one day this weekend...

Jacque: LOL about the nutrients in between the butter. ;)

That's all for now but I'll be back!:7

Just got home from work and thought I'd pop in for a moment. I'd like to answer some questions from above.....but heck if I can remember who asked what. I don't know how you ladies do personals. Take Notes???

The job is going well. I'm a bit nervous, as the new Owner just took over 2 weeks ago and he's been hiring salesmen...etc and I'm hoping he knows what he's doing since the economy has been so bad. They say business has picked up that this Nissan dealer...so maybe the economy is picking up? Also, when things go "this well" in my life, I get a bit nervous cuz I'm used to always going thru the hard stuff and I wonder when the rug is going to be pulled from underneath me. Hate to sound negative......but just being honest.

I've been to Vegas numerous times. Thanks for all of the vacation send offs.

Turbo Jams ALWAYS give me high calorie burns...especially if I put my all into it. They seem to be my fun "go to" workout for mega calorie burn and fun and the same time.

I'll see everyone next week. I'll be needing all of your motivation to get started back on WSFL, as I won't be doing anything but eating and walking in Vegas.

Hi Wendy,

Yep, I was home with my two kids for eight years, and I really did love it, but it was tough, too. I know exactly what you mean by working an overall crappy part time job just for the social aspect. I did it too, even though I made, like, six bucks an hour and stressed over getting there on time and maintaining the household duties, I didn't care because it got me out of the house among adults. Now I'm back at work full time, because a) the kids are older and in school all day, and b) the aforementioned divorce. I LOVE my job...and I miss being home with the kids. WTH? Am I ever happy? :p

ITA with your take on the EXT, too.

Day 4 of WSFL is done, diet was right on again today. Woohoo! Have a great evening everyone!

Jen,

Oh I am sure I will miss my baby so very much when he starts school in the fall but I know this is the right move for both of us. I get very cranky and get mad at him for things that I should not when I start to go on "overload" with him. We need time apart. It will do us both good. When I took him to pick up the school registration packet he was so excited. He didn't want to leave!:7

Good job on the food today! I did well too!:)

Good night!
