G' mornin' ladies,

yesterday was a rest day for me and i was really busy making sure i have everything in order for my outdoor bootcamp classes that begin next week.

today i am doing AOS newport followed by itread's 30 min runintervals.

lori- OMG, so sorry to hear about your accident. how are you feeling today?

judy- i am certified thru AFAA as a personal trainer and also a group ex instructor. i am currently studying to become certified thru NASM.

i will BBL to check in on you fitchicks and for more personals:)

Happy Friday the Thirteenth.

This morning was WSFL Strength Circuits, Metabolic Circuits with HIIT. This was a fave combo of mine...Incline Chest presses/DB Rows, Pushups and Jacknives, Lunge with Row, Shoulder press and squat.

For the HIIT, I used the Rebounder again. Intervals were 120/120 Max/Rec. I shortened my recoveries just a bit. I did my own stretch and listened to RHCP Stadium Arcadium - Jupiter for weights and Papa Roach Paramour Sessions for cardio. Workout was 60" and I burned 490 calories.

I need help! These ladies at work are THE DEVIL. They bring me cookies, cake, etc daily and I've eaten a choc chip or sugar cookie every day this week (big ones). My weakness is sweets and always has been. We all just share one big room.....the cookies are right in my face. The one girl stops and buys stuff special just for me! It's becoming a bad habit that I need to break but with my addictive behavior and severe sweet tooth, I fear I'm doomed.

On the other hand, I have been talking with the one guy who is the Sales Manager that the owner brought from Phoenix and he's really into fitness like me and we've been talking about weights, fitness, etc over the last couple days.......but he even brought 2 boxes of cookies in for us ladies yesterday. I'm thinking I might mention that I would appreciate his support with the "junk food" eating since he's training for a competition.......like maybe we can help each other with diet? I need someone with some discipline around me. Today....the boss is buying lunch and for dessert, they ordered Triple Chocolate Cake!! OMG!!

Sorry this is soo long and hope it makes sense...as I'm rambling...but my sweet tooth is out of control and I need to get a grip. Would appreciate help.

ETA - On a good note - another younger dude at work told me I looked 35 yesterday and then he said I was Hot.....not really sure if that's politically correct...but I'll take the compliment (yes, bragging again)....good ego boost for me since I have such low self esteem.

Re: the job interview - I have a "phone interview" set up for next Thursday AM. The company is Gateway Rehab center and they are pre-screening candidates via phone interview from their Akron office...but the job is in Youngstown.

Sunny - Newport is one of my fave KB workouts! Good luck...as it's a toughie.

Lora: Sorry about the sweets. I had the same problem yesterday but it was no one's doing but my own. I am usually very good about avoiding the sweets I buy for my husband and son but y'day I was in a bad frame of mind and caved. x( Good luck with the phone interview! Nice work out today!:) YAY for more compliments!:7

Not sure what's on tap for today. Yeah, I know I'm supposed to take a rest day but um...well...I have to say I can almost GARUNTEE that it won't happen. Perhaps I will do an EASIER work out but to do NOTHING is most likely an impossibility for me. Sorry! LOL }(

Sunny- Thank you for the info on certifications. I may pick the brain of my cousin who is in the fitness industry too. He is a PE teacher, but also is heavily involved in getting trainers certified.

This is funny but OT. By chance, a friend of mine answered an ad about buying a washing machine. The ad was from my cousin mentioned above. Some how they made a connection of knowing me. And my friend asked what the cousin did. When he said he was a PE teacher and in the fitness industry, She said I looked like a trainer and should be one. She is always saying she wants to look like me when she grows up! Ok sorry to be so self proclaiming.

On another note, Lora I have had a terrible sweet tooth too! We can try to be abstain together. My family is no help! They want sweets at night. I have to start ignoring them.

Wendy Good going with the salad ahead of time. Now it it my turn to kick out the sweet tooth!

Today is NROL4W 3B with HIIT . Then I have a hair appointment. Is anyone getting annoyed at the gas prices yet? I am no where near the lower priced gas stations in our area, and have been limiting my errands.

Arrrgh! I overslept AGAIN!!! What is up with that???

It's supposed to be a strength/circuits day. I'll try to get it in tonight after work, but it's difficult once I get home with the kids. It may have to wait until tomorrow.

I did take a long walk last night, and I had a perfect diet day (first one in quite a few days x( ), so I'm not too worried about missing today.

Lora, that is sooooo hard. I faced the sweets in the office thing yesterday, too, and I was so tempted! The only thing that saved me is that it was set up in the kitchen which is far away from my office. Out of sight, out of mind! But each time I did go into the kitched that little devil popped up on my shoulder taunting me to take just one piece! The angel won out this time, but she's not always that strong ;-) . Maybe if you kept something motivational on your desk or something? A picture or a quote or poem? Or, is there ANY WAY they can set that stuff up somewhere else where you can't see it? Is there anything sweet that you enjoy that's diet friendly, that you could sub when your little devil is telling you to indulge? I feel for you, girl. I'd have a really hard time with that.

Wendy, are you sure you don't need a rest day? ;) I'll tell you that while I'm frustrated with myself for oversleeping this morning, my calves are thanking me. They are so sore and stiff from yesterdays HIIT! I will NOT be wearing high heels to work today!

Judy, Go for it! You should get certified! You're in great shape, you have a great personality, and you'd help a lot of people. What great compliments you and Lora have gotten! That must makeyou feel great. Oy, gas prices are ridiculous! It cost me $60 to fill my tank the other day. It used to cost me less than $20. It's not a large tank. BF and I were talking about it last night, and he made a great point. As crappy as the price of everything is right now, thanks to the gas prices, it's likely going to be the best thing that's happened to this couuntry. It's going to force people to conserve, and it's going to make us (meaning the energy industry) find alternative fuel options. Heating oil around here right now is $4.54 a gallon. How the hell am I supposed to heat this house on that price all winter?? I'm looking into pellet stoves this summer.

Wow, look what oversleeping and missing my workout gets me...a long time to post!

Good grief! What a chatty bunch today:eek: Im gonna have to get more coffee if i want to keep reading! LOL

Im feeling much better today. My neck is still a little tight and my nose still hurts but the quesiness is gone (thank god!) One of my friends who is a nurse told me that it was weird that I was still sick. She then asked if I were pregnant...thinking I only just had my period I calculated the days and am at Day #26:-( So that put the fear of God in me! For the longest time I thought I wanted another baby, but Im thinking that if I got pregnant again, I might just jump into the lake thats right behind me;) Needless to say, Im happy Im not sick today b/c I might be thinking that I was pregnant as well! LOL
On another note, somewhere in my journeys I got the cold. Remember last week I had a itchy troat? Its taken that long to come into full effect! Weird!

Yesterday was a full rest day of course and now the scale is up #1 lbs. Does that happen to anyone else? I know its not possible b/c I barely ate anything. As much as I like to keep my weight in check, I think I am going to start weighing myself once a week.Same day, sametime.
Im not sure what todays workout will be. It will be some form of good cardio b/c we have a b-day party tonight with drinks.Im not gonna have to many though b/c Ive felt so crappy the past 2 days that I don't want to feel like that again tomorrow.

Lora** Im the bad person at work who makes the cookies...why we do it? I dunno;) I love to bake! I am off of work until Mon night so yesterday I made 2 big batches of cookies,brownies and a cheesecake! LOL Now..they aren't suppose to be for my coworkers or boss though. They are suppose to be for the flights we get, for pilots and the elite people of the world. I do feel your pain though b/c I to have a major sweet tooth! I bake it, then I eat it so its like self sabotage.The most I work is 3 days in a row though so if I can keep it under control I am doing o.k. Just try to ignore it and see if that works! LOL Nice compliment you got yesterday!

Wendy** I don't really like taking rest days either cause I never know what the next day might throw my way. And if I have the time to workout, why rest? I was really hoping to get some good runs in over the next couple of days but its suppose to rain until Wed! Can you beleive that? Very nice of you stepping aside today and letting someone else have a turn!:+

Judy** I am very annoyed with the gas prices! It was suppose to go up again yesterday 5cents but that didn't happen. Neither one of us as vechiles that are easy on gas so it doesn't help. I think our tourist season is really gonna suffer this yr! I think its all about greed!

Jen** Prehaps you needed to rest. When I work day shifts I have to get my workout in before work b/c it won't get done after. Im just to tired!

Just popping in to say I just downloaded ITread 21/30 WALK intervals so that's what I plan on doing today at the gym along with a park visit for DS!

Quick check in this morning. I work today - teach bootcamp this afternoon.

Sunny, I'm certified through NASM. My next step is to get the Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES)or the CSCS through NSCA. Good luck studying. When do you plan to take the test? I'd love to take your bootcamp class.

Judy, Go for it - You'd be a great inspiration to many!

Lora, Compliments are always nice - take them. I have a terrible sweet tooth too. Tell yourself you will have a piece of fruit instead of a cookie.

shirl- was NASM hard? i am taking it in a couple of months...(biting nails:eek: ) i have a couple of other certs i am eyeing also. i really want to become kettlebell certified.

lora- count me in as another with a sweet toothx( . it's like sometimes it's absolutely out of control!! we should try to do something on this check-in to keep each other in line. ashamed to admit yesterday i ate a box of candy.....

AOS newport done!!! no legs left for running... and i gotta get a move on.
ok, next to outdoor Metabolic effect class. AOS newport is the HARDEST workout i've ever done. WHEW, i am whipped:7 if anyone is on the fence re: kettlebell training i can tell you the conditioning of this style of training is unparallel. if you are bored with traditional strength training workouts kettlebells will revive your love for working out. these are tough workouts with a high fun factor!!! i am more in love with anthony (i think) than ever:) :D :7

Checking in before work - woke early and am very stiff in the neck and shoulders from emotinal tension at work. Think I'll take a rest day and try to relax before my PUB which I'll do tomorrow instead.

Sunny - your classes sound like fun - it's been so long since I've taken a live one - enjoy !

Lora - nice workout, always fun to enjoy the hard work too ! We have loads of goodies at work too and fortunately I am stuck way down at the end of the hall so it isn't as tempting. The ladies know my willpower and think I never indulge:eek: so I do set them straight but tell them that I have to watch it because I do lose it. I'm sorry that you have the temptations in front of you - I think the idea of getting your fitness "buddy" to coalign would be a great idea.

Wendy - guess the rest day went out the window, huh? I'm with you and rarely leave a new "toy" unopened and unused. Hope you enjoy it.

Judy - what a nice complement you got about looking like a trainer. So see, people already think it is true, maybe that is a sign to just GO FOR IT!

Jen - great job on the eating yesterday and then a walk too ! LOL at long posts due to no workout, that's why I'm here too:7

Lori - so glad you are feeling better, the queasiness for so long was worrying me. LOL about the pregnant thing ! I remember getting married for the second time at 40 and one of my coworkers asking if I was going to have more kids. I have loved every minute, but am enjoying a little freedom too. And the fact that I don't have to discipline constantly - I'm in HR at work and get enough there ! And the scale thing, yes I can add 2 - 3 lbs in a day and I know I haven't eaten 10,000 cals so it is just body adjustments, right !

Shirl - hope work goes well and leaves you loads of energy for your boot camp class this afternoon.

Wow - just look at all the fitness teachers we have just on this checkin !

Hey Girls.

I tried to do my ITread walk intervals at the gym this morning but got interrupted within 10 mins for diaper duty so I decided to bag it and take DS to the park instead.

I was following the intermediate #s and it was too light for me so when I got called to diaper duty I was not enthused about going back to it. I was going to do P90 Master Cardio Intervals this afternoon but DH came home from work early so I think I will head off to the gym again in a bit (with out DS) and try the ITread again with the highest #s this time. I just hope I like it better.

I have a 5 mile race tmrw morning that I am really looking forward to. My running has been so sparse and ungratifying lately b/c of the stupid tm issues so I need this race to gain back some confidence in my ability/endurance! I am signing up for an 18 mile race in October...I can't afford to lose these things right now!:eek:

Okay, well if I am going to go to the gym I'd best get a move on. Want to be in and out before the after work rush!:+

Lora- how did you do today with sweets? It is OK either way! I have been good so far, and although I will have cocktails tonight, I will not have dessert or white starches. I'll check in and be honest with ya. Feel free to do the same.

NROL4W 3B is done. For HIIT I did iTread 13/30 minute sprints. There are 6 in all but the last one is 4 minutes getting gradually slower. I did 8 total and kept the length of sprint time fairly constant . Oh, and I did do the HIIT first again, then a quick stretch then the 3B routine.

Hey Girls.

I did ITread 21/30 Walk Intervals plus a short slow run to take the mileage to 3 even.

After that I hit the foodstore so we would have something decent for dinner tonight. DH is going to grill and I'll make the sides inside.

After dinner we are supposed to go down to the boardwalk to put DS on some rides. :+

Hope everyone is having a happy friday. Sorry for my lack of personals today but perhaps I can catch up a little later!
 
Thanks for all of the food/sweets suggestions. It's SO HARD for me with my addictive behavior and severe sweet tooth but I will try to only allow 1 treat a week or something to that nature. I did speak with the fitness dude and told him I need his support. Found out he is a certified Hypnotist (has actually appeared on QVC with his programs)....so I told him I want to be hypnotized to not eat sweets and eat less. He's the Owner's right hand man that came from Phoenix with the owner.

Funny thing he said this morning is that I should come to the gym with them in the AM to workout sometime! Could you see lil' ol' me in the gym with the guys slinging around my Kettlebells and doing Metabolic Circuits! I think NOT. I'm a home exerciser. ......sorry...don't want to hang with the dudes! LOL! He told me he has a female personal trainer from Phoenix that emails him his programs. She was a Ms Universe in the past. He said that he likes women trainers, as they pay more attention to detail....smart, huh?

Great workouts everyone. Off to eat my dinner.

I'll not be doing recovery cardio tomorrow....must do regular cardio to burn off the chocolate cake I ate today!!!!! Yikes. My BAD.
