alternating circuits and splits

Hi all, I've switched from doing primarily splits for the past month to a circuit cycle, and it feels good. Just wondering if anyone else has done this, and what your results have been?? I feel like I'm giving my muscles a little break in terms of working them 'til exhaustion, but am surprised that I'm still getting doms, with alot of the more endurance-type work in the circuits. Anyway, just curious if anyone else has tried this approach.

I'm mainly writing to bump this up for any other answers.

I had actually just switched from splits to more circuits when I injured my ankle a couple weeks ago, so now I've gone back to splits (because I'm not doing much besides upper body anyway). I was really looking forward to the circuit rotation just for the variety and fun, and I've also still got some weight to lose. I hope it works well for you--let us know later!

I switch to 30 days of circuits every 3-4 months. The shock mentally and physically is always good for me. I lean out more with circuit rotations a couple of times a year but any more than that & I cease seeing results.... I think you'll be happy with results and you'll be stronger going back to your strength focused work.

i will do a couple of weeks of circuits after about 4-5 weeks of heavy lifting splits. its great to change things up and it will burn that little extra layer of fat right off your muscles
