Hi Cathy! Nope, I've never done STS. I don't even own it. You did a good job describing back off sets, so thanks! :) I have never done Tracie Long's workouts but I like the name of the one you did yesterday!!

Hi Iris! The dining room is all painted and the color did dry lighter, so that made us happy! We really like it now. I can't wait for the trim work & stuff to be done now too, to make the room complete! Who does Cardio Force? I haven't done a step workout in sooooo long! Maybe I will tomorrow! It's been fun this week doing what I please! :) I'm trying to take it easier this week since I know we have 90 days of tough work ahead!! ;)

Today's workout was my C25K run plus Cool it Off, a nice long stretch.

well, today was disc 17, legs. THEN, FOR SOME INSANE REASON , i did the firm's power half hour to get some extra cardio. which i thought, "it is only 30min." well, it is a tough 30min. and lots of lower body. so, i am FRIED! and i was already sore from yesterday's workout. :) hope i can walk tomorrow.

Hello Ladies,

Cathy, I can't believe you are already up to Disc 17 in your 2nd STS rotation. Doesn't it go fast? I was soo pleasantly surprised by how quick it went when I did it. I will eventually get back to it again. My next 90 day rotation will be CLX. I've had it for months, and am now psyched and ready to go. I found I needed a break after completing STS.

Christine, I'm glad to hear your dining room color was a hit? You are doing good with C25K rotation :) I am really getting excited now about starting CLX. I may start it this coming week. It'll be good to start the first week in August. I was sitting here working on my calendar, trying to get a feel for what I'll be doing. I hope I don't overwork. I still want to take a couple of classes at the gym. As long as they keep it interesting for me.

Jen how are you? How's your week going? Vacation time is almost here :) Lucky you :)

My workout today was cardio Force. That's a workout with Anni Mairs. In this workout she has you use light db's. Mostly just 1's. It's all cardio, using the step. You do one minute intervals, with barely a break in between, so of course, I use my pause button as often as I need to. My sports bra was drenched in sweat when I was done. I rarely do that workout, but when I did it today, I thought it would be a good addition to my CLX cardio workouts when I get started. I have soo many workouts, and some I rarely do.

Hello Friends.
My vacation starts Monday and lasts for one week, I may take another week off in the fall for stuff, but I am looking forward to this one. Home projects, school, and visiting with a friend of mine. We known each other and have been friends since Kindergarten. Most of my friends from the Detroit area are like that, northern MI and Grand Rapids not so much.
Enjoy those workouts!! Cathe answered my thread on the Ask Cathe forum,

Jen, I saw your post on Ask Cathe. That's nice that she responded to you! I think it's great you have friends from when you were young, especially kindergarden, wow! I don't know anyone from when I was younger anymore. I guess we grew up and apart. One more day until vaca, hooray! :D Any word on your job application? Keep us posted!

Iris, I know I can't believe I'm going into Week 4 of C25K, I'm really excited about it and determined to complete the whole 9 weeks! I am loving running more and more each week. I really like the Christian podcasts I'm listening to also. I'm excited to start CLX too!! :) Just start out doing whatever you have planned and see how your body feels. I'm sure you'll know if you're doing too much. I plan to do the weight workouts on the same days I run (M/W/F) and her cardio workouts two other days during the week. I'd also like to add extra ab work. I'll probably tack the TJ standing ab work onto my weight days. I love how the workouts are so short that you can add on and still be done in 60 min or less! I'm sticking with 2 rest days per week though, I just know from experience that it's what my body needs. Ooooh, Cardio Force sounds intense!! :eek: :)

Cathy, can you walk today?? :p

No workouts for me today, although I may go for a walk and/or stretch a little later on. I've been continuing with my cleaning and just taking it easy this week.

Hello Ladies,

Another late post from me. I can't believe how the time flies once I'm out of work.

I made it to the gym today for the kickboxing 30/30 class. I am really enjoying this switch up. My legs were already pretty fried from yesterday's Cardio Force. I'm surprised I've had pretty good energy this week.

An idea came to me today as I was working out at the gym. Christine, I agree with you that with CLX 2 rest days sounds ideal. I seem to be a little overzealous, but I was thinking today, that with these 30/30 classes, I can really opt to just take the first 30 minutes, which would be all cardio, and skip the sculpting part. That sounds ideal, because most of these 30 minute portions are good calorie burners as it is, so it would be a good addition to CLX. On days where I'm supposed to do cardio, I can opt to do another 15 - 30 minutes on the cardio equipment. Just thinking of different ways to work CLX. I'm excited to get started :)

I can't believe the Road Trip is about to begin. My friend Melissa from these boards is there, and I'm looking forward to her giving me details, lol. This is her second R.T.

Hi Cathy, how are you doing? Has it cooled down any by you? It's finally been feeling like summer here these past couple of days.

Iris, that sounds like a good idea to take the first part of your 30/30 class for the cardio! I think that will work great with CLX. I'm excited to start too!! I hope I get my DVD's today, I should! I'm also going to buy a few more weights before Monday. All of the dumbells I have increase by 5lbs. I was thinking that I may need 12 lbs because the jump from 10 to 15 may be too much.

Cathy, how are you doing today?

Today was supposed to be my third run from Week 3 of C25K, but it's pouring really bad out and I don't think it's supposed to stop today. I may have to get my run in tomorrow. Other than that, I will just be doing some stretching today.

I did get my run in afterall, hooray! :) After that I stretched with Slim & Limber. It was hot and sticky from the rain, but I'm glad I got my run in before it starts to pour again.

I can't believe tomorrow is 8/1! I guess we will start a new thread tomorrow? This month went by fast!

Any plans for the weekend? Tomorrow morning my husband and I are meeting my sister for breakfast, my BIL has to work. After that my hubby will shop at his favorite store -Lowe's :p - while my sister and I go get pedicures.

Iris, I had to laugh while I was reading the fitness guide for CLX. She mentions in there something to the effect of how doing endless reps wastes your time if you're looking for results. I laughed because doing endless reps actually works for me, AND Slim in 6 is a Beachbody program!! So the CLX guide is basically saying Slim in 6 doesn't work, HA! I think Beachbody made a mistake there, LOL.
 
Yahoo!! the vacation is here!! Lowe's is one of my faves!! Feeling down, it appears that my friend with the strained relationship is attracted to the stalker. So, in the past few weeks/months, I have lost two people in my life although unhealthy, it still hurts. I feel used by the guy and betrayed from the girl plus no movement on the job search. I believe there will be layoffs at work soon.

TGIF. This was a tough/busy week at work. Soo glad the weekend is upon us. Actually, tomorrow is our company picnic at the boss's house, but I opted not to go. Actually, I haven't gone the past couple years. I'm not soo happy with things at work these days, so I figure why bother to mingle with them outside of work. I know that sounds terrible.

Christine, I can't believe tomorrow is August. I like having this thread as a monthly thread. Makes it soo much easier to go back and re-read if I miss something. What a blooper Beachbody missed in Chalean's Fitness Guide. I don't agree with her statement either. I think low weight/high reps is exactly what you need to lean out and get nice toning. I think heavier weights serve a different purpose, although CLX is compound moves, I think it is something entirely different than anything I've ever done. I'm looking forward to seeing what results, if any I get. 12lb dumbbells for some reason, can be difficult to find. I couldn't find them in the iron ones, and didn't want the neoprene ones, because they feel too big for my hands to hold comfortably. The iron ones are smaller. I ended up buying pace weights. Those magnets that you attach to the dumbbells on 1/2 lb. increments. I used them with STS, even on my barbbell and they worked well for me. They're not really cheap though. I think mine were close to $50. including shipping, and that was only for, I believe, 9 of them. Did your videos arrive today?

Well, today ended up being a rest day for me. I was kind of sore from my workouts this week. They seem to have slowly crept up on me. I previewed a new workout yesterday. Deepdiscount had their 25% off sale, so I ordered Tracey's Staehle's "Boost your Metabolism" workout. It's a combination of cardio and weights. I plan to workout to it tomorrow, if I don't decide to go to the beach instead.
